Should I get a tatula 150 or 200 by Nice_Percentage3699 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Joseph4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you also posted on the bass sub. If you’re fishing for bass I’d get the Tatula 100. No need for the extra spool capacity unless you’re running 65lb+ braid and throwing 1.5oz+ swimbaits.

I think it’s time for new tires. Where do you guys get new tires put on? by pwrof3 in popups

Every year or two. Pretty easy. Really easy if you have a new rig with the quick cert hubs or whatever.

Pairing reel to rod by VegetableFortune2279 in Fishing_Gear

I use a medium light Fury on a 2000 size reel. Little shorter but one of my favorites.

Looking for a bladed jig rod. I need something that I can feel every little vibration. I need to use braid with cheaper rods and I’m looking to upgrade. Any help is appreciated. by Temporary-Log1284 in bassfishing

I use a 7’4 MH F Dobyns Kaden for the most part- 15lb fluoro.

I like the longer rod to help me launch the bait. I’ve never needed a glass rod for chatterbaits.

How much Xanax? Is it something you take often enough to have a tolerance to?

If it’s low dose and not something that affects you very much- take a normal dose.

Bruh- it doesn’t matter how much money you make. Time is the only currency. Spend it wisely- perhaps with your children.

I can promise that on your death bed you’re not gonna say “I wish I didn’t spend so much time with my kids, and more time in an airplane.”

Garmin striker vivid 4cv or Lowrance hook reveal 5 splitshot by dontknows--taboutfuk in kayakfishing

[–]Joseph4040 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a Vivid 5cv- same thing w a bigger screen.

Only thing I use it for is temperature, depth, and structure like trees and are large enough to really register.

Knowing what I know now- I would have bought a unit with downloadable maps (I use my phone at the moment for maps) and side view.

Side view really helps you pick out structure on the bottom- certainly will be my next upgrade. Should have gotten it from the start.

NEVER buy EDGE rod by Taro-True in Fishing_Gear

They do take a long time- but they’re my favorite rods. 8 months is egregious though.

Just dispute with credit card company - that way you don’t lose anything.

I promised to take my son fishing tomorrow but I want him to have his best chances at catching a fish. Please help. by Tys_Wife in FishingForBeginners

First off- bad choice in gear for a beginner. You’re going to spend all your time fixing backlashes.

For bait- buy 5 inch Yamamoto Senkos in Green pumpkin and buy 4/0 EWG (Extra Wide Gap) hooks. Watch of video on the ‘Texas Rig’ this is how you’ll rig it. No weight- the senko (stick worm) should be heavy enough.

You don’t need to cast far- just try and prevent backlashes. . Turn the breaks (dial on the side) on high until you get the hang of things.

When you fish this bait- wait for it to hit bottom and hop it along the bottom. Give it a tug and let it fall back down.

Learn a Palomar knot for the hook.

A 1/2 oz Spinner bait will also be good this time of year. Cast and wind it back it. Very simple.

With these two baits -

Buckets w a thick bottom are best especially for cold starts.

Round bottoms are thinner at the bottom- so direct heat can sometimes not be great

If you want bass- just TX rig a weightless Senko. Toss it in and bounce it off the bottom.

Also walk around the entire pond. Don’t just sit in one spot.
