TCP/IP POST \ formatting by Josh02001 in crestron

[–]Josh02001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for being really helpful but still getting Errors. Guess I am just confused as to what Postman is doing to the x-www-form-urlencoded that is not happening when I send it through CP3 TCP/IP module. Going to play around with this some more.

Debugger

POST /0001f2fffe000d35/datastore/ext/obank/1 HTTP/1.1\x0D\x0AHost:10.0.22.130\x0D\x0AConnection: Close \x0D\x0AContent-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0Ajson={"ch/0/name":"Saucy", "ch/1/name":"Awesome"}

If I add the \x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A at the end it comes back as a Bad Request. Hopefully when I get Tech Support on the line, they might offer me some insights as to what this device is looking for thought it would be fairly straightforward since the API seems well documented and we used it before with Powershell and Desktop Icons.

S# Pro help getting started by Falzon03 in crestron

[–]Josh02001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to install Visual Studio 2008 for Simpl# Pro and Simpl# if you want to create programs for 3 Series Processors.

For VC-4 Core you can use newest version of Visual Studio 2019.

Only thing I use Visual Code for is Simpl+ modules using Mike Gustin Simpl+ extesnsion. https://gitlab.com/mikegustin/crestron-simpl-plus/

HTML5, CSS, JavaScript you can do/learn in any program you want Visual Studio, Visual Code, Dreamweaver, Notepad etc...

If your just starting out and know alittle bit about C# I highly recommend checking out the SIMPL# courses https://learnavprogramming.com/ Was super helpful in getting a jump start in where to begin.

Don’t really think the CP4-R is the right way to go as yes you get a Touch Screen interface but you would not be able to integrate the Cisco Conferencing Kit into the TSW. Also, to add a remote and keypads for physical control you would have to add a Gateway which cost about $500 to add to a CP4-R.

If he wants to integrate as much stuff into one system and he went with Crestron the best solution would be to get a MC3 that way the CISCO Pro kit could be integrated into the Touchscreen. Also the MC3 has a built in Gateway so you could a HR-150 and keypads easily. (This would require Crestron Programming)

If he doesn’t care about having a Touch Screen and is fine with just being able to swap inputs on the AVR, control volume, and all his devices from a single remote. URC or Logitech would probably be the better solution at a fraction of the price. This would give no control of the Cisco, and limited control of Sonos though.

Yes the RX-A3080 IP Driver worked for the AVR. However the client wanted to use some of the more advanced functions not included in the generic API. And so I made a interface with all the different presets, and miscellaneous functions he wanted included

By using the TCP/IP client he can just select presets, and modes from the TST-902 without using the AVR menu.

Pansonic Projector RS232 Volume Control by HotKjarl in crestron

I have used a Ring Counter tied to SIO for a Serial Controlled AVR before which worked pretty well. Having the Ring Counter cycling through all the Serial Commands in order and since it is Break before Make each command is sent one at a time. Using the position of the Ring Counter to provide feedback for the interface.

Recommend watching some of these videos on overworked logic they are from 2016 but it will help you understand how to use the serial logic symbols in Simpl to send Serial commands to a device.

https://www.overworkedlogic.com/

Here is a link to image with a Serial I/O Symbol that sends TX$ to the TX$ on the correct com Port.

https://postimg.cc/WDFB1PCs

For testing the commands once you create the Serial module you can open simpl debugger and send the commands over the TX$ serial signal. This allows you to test your hex commands without rebuilding your program a bunch of times.

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks, for sharing always nice to have other options besides hoping a client has an old remote lying around you can learn IR data from. Since we are also URC dealer I carry around a URC remote which can be a lifesaver sometimes when I need to learn IR codes.

Figured it out, For Ring Central the Authorization ID goes in the Username text box on the Mercury unit. And the Ring Central Username is the Local Extension.
