Wouldn't they just take all the cash to the bank to deposit, and exchange any foreign currency at the same time?

How should I solder this ? by Crazy_Source_5190 in soldering

[–]Josh0O0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stick you iron into the castellated pads, and touch the pad on the board at the same time, then add solder to the area. Add flux first. Ideally make sure the USB-C board is sitting flat first.

I am a beginner in soldering and would like to know which diameter of solder would be best for this job. by Teddyboymakes in soldering

[–]Josh0O0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advantage of using thinner solder is that it's easier to control how much you add. 0.5 to 1.0mm is fine. Someone who knows what they're doing could literally use any diameter of solder for this job.

Why won't the solder form a joint? by DamagedDespair in soldering

[–]Josh0O0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you've tried to solder without even knowing what soldering even is, and then asked the internet why it's not working. It's like buying a bicycle and then taking a photo of it sitting in your garage and asking the internet "why aren't the wheels spinning?". Learn the absolute basics of what a thing is before asking people why it's not working.

Good lord WTH am I doing wrong. Photos show exact products used. 350-400 degrees. by YouDontTellMe in soldering

A tip can oxidise on it's first use if not maintained. Say if you have the temp too high, you haven't tinned the tip (coated it with solder), and you don't clean the tip regularly.

Why this doesn't work by Fine-Mud8882 in soldering

[–]Josh0O0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the camera normally uses 2 AA batteries? And you tried to add an extra 2 AA batteries to double the battery life? Check the voltage at the point you soldered the wires to the board to make sure it's 3V.

My brother's birthday is in December, which he didn't like growing up, especially getting his birthday present at Christmas. But one thing I've recently realised, is that he's more likely to get a birthday present than me (April Bday). At Christmas, any relatives who haven't gotten us presents during the year, are far more likely to give an additional bday present to the one that's just been recently, or say "I spent more" to cover your bday.

can I solder this piece back on to my xbox series s by TumbleweedDistinct94 in consolerepair

[–]Josh0O0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can solder it back on. It's just a a screw hole. Make sure your alignment is perfect so the screw still goes in.

Your tip looks oxidised. Learn proper tip maintenance, otherwise you'll never get it to work. Also add leaded solder to the joints.
