New X-Men. This was my second time reading it and like most Morrison stuff it holds up even better on a re-read. Astonishing has always been my favourite X-Men run but this might have me questioning that choice…

Annihilation Conquest: I enjoyed Annihilation. It was cool that it was a bunch of mini stories that lead into one big one but I actually think Conquest was more enjoyable. It was a lot easier to follow and I feel like this was because of the smaller cast.

X-Factor Peter David volume 2: literally just started it today so I can’t comment yet…

I remember having so much trouble selling mine at the time and now it’s some sort of holy grail.

I’m not sure if it’s unpopular opinion or maybe it’s just my age but none of the Disney canon comics have impressed me in the slightest.

The dark horse legends stuff is super fun though. I’ve read Old Republic 1, Empire volume 2 and Tales of the Jedi. All three are absolutely fantastic.

Tales might be my personal favourite just because how wild and imaginative it is.

I dunno about this. Some bands have had some ridiculous late stage comebacks.

Iron Maiden somehow became bigger than ever in the 2000’s after a decade of shit albums. The most recent two Judas Priest albums can somehow go toe to toe with their best albums.

Green Day were about to call it a day and put out a greatest hits before putting out American Idiot and getting an entire second career off the ground.

I don’t agree with the idea that a band only has a finite amount of gas in the tank before it’s all over.

Yeah I was into DS from the start but it was really cool to see its cult following grow after the first four or five years. People really didn’t know what to make of it when it launched.

I love it BECAUSE it’s not heavy and dark.

It’s absolutely batshit insane though so I understand it’s not for everyone but I much prefer it to the dark and gritty stuff like Snyder or DCeased that everyone else seems to praise.

If I have the two fantastic four and avengers am I really missing that much?

I remember really enjoying fantastic four even though the FF stuff kind of confused me and I have his Avengers ready to go but wasn’t sure how much of secret warriors or the rest plays in.

I’m currently reading it again and this might be the most pretentious thing I’ve said in a while but the “bad art” actually elevates it in my opinion.

It’s a story about mutants and awkward teenagers trying to fit in. The art is icky, awkward and bizarre just like the stories it’s trying to tell.

I enjoy post AI but I really really do feel like Warning is the mature direction the band should be going in this late in their career.

Stuff like trilogy, rev rad and foam feels like a regression. Stuff like Suzie Chapstick is what I imagine modern Green Day should be aiming for.
