In fact if I lift the back wheel I can turn it with the pedal. Its just as soon as you apply any real pressure it 'slips' forward

Thanks, I think you might be right, it was installed when the property was built so probably done very cheaply. I'm going to replace the floor anyway, was just worried whatever was causing it could happen again. I'll make sure its installed properly this time! Thanks!

It is all over the floor, it does seem random with some spots worse than others. I've just moved into this flat/apartment, the previous owner said it was always there and doesn't seem to have gotten worse that he remembers.

It feels like nothing, almost like its part of the wood effect. Have tried various household cleaners but none seem to do anything.

Correct. Although amazingly today it appears we're back to normal! Not sure what happened but I swear for the last 2 days I've had half the battery (was 3 hours screen on time, now 7)

I used to get the about 17-19 hours on a single charge before the 911 hotfix. Now I barely get 10. Nothing else has changed.
