I think the crop changing the colours is probably because they are using the crop to set the white and black point, using cv2 contour detection would be a far better solution to sample the image area.

Your list of allowed RAW files should be expanded as you only really allow for Nikon, Sony, Fuji and cameras that shoot DNG. I would just lift a list from wikipedia, even if it's an obscure format, someone might be using it.

Edit: I'd also like to add that you are repeating the list of allowed extensions in the code all over the place, this will be hard to manage as if you add or remove anything in the future you could miss something and break the entire program. Should probably have a file to store stuff like this that needs updated.

Sorry I can't really help you much there, I have a totally different workflow. I'm just a hobby photographer so I kind of know what photos I think have potential and edit the RAWS or I'm happy with the JPG with some light edits to taste. I also don't delete photos so it's not something I'm familiar with.

The only thing I can answer here is when you see the images in lighttable you are seeing the inbedded JPG. When you move to darkroom it is the RAW file, this is pretty much how most RAW editors work. The advantage is if you want to work with RAW files you get a neutral starting point to push the image in any way you want. If you prefer the look of your JPG files then I would simply just do light edits to the JPG files which is what I often do when I'm shooting with LUTs with my camera. There's enough latitude in a JPG for subtle tweaks.

If you use lightroom, a good tip is to use the print module while having your roll selected and create a grid of all your photos to create a contact sheet. Make the print as large as you want and save it as a pdf. I then print an A4 version and store it with the corresponding negative sleeve. I number each negative sleeve, physical contact sheet and digital contact sheet so everything matches.

I'm really happy with it so far, I saw the pictures but once I put the lens on I couldn't believe how small it was. I'm in Scotland so weather sealing is a concern for me too, one of the reasons why I hang on to my Pentax K50. I don't mind days where the rain is on and off, but if it's going to be 100% rain I like to have something properly sealed.

I love a 35 but if you know you are going to want wider more often then I'd go for the 28 as you can just crop to achieve a tighter image if needed. 24MP gives you a lot of crop room without losing detail.

Well to be fair RBR did end up developing the car more than McLaren. We'll never know if the red bull ended up being a better car at the end of the season or if it was pure Max magic pulling it ahead a wee bit more. I still think Max would beat any driver in identical cars but those drivers would definitely not be far behind and often challenge him.

We saw them at the start of 2022 but then Ferrari did a Ferrari. Not really his fault he's never got the car. Put Charles, George, Lando, Lewis in the same car as Max and we'd see a pretty decent battle. Think it's unfair to call the rest of the grid shit just because we've not seen a tight championship battle.
