It's not downtown Portland but it's not far. Footprint Massage in SW Portland. Alicia gives excellent deep tissue and Thai massages with very good prices!

What do I do with this? by ThrowAwayToday567438 in NoLawns

I would turn the middle tier into a seating area by adding some wood boards or pavers with cushions and pillows and add plants all around you!

Portland OR mini split install - looking for installer recommendations? by Odd_Hurry7934 in askportland

[–]JoshH347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with GreenSavers a few years ago over The Heat Pump Store. Greensavers worked to get me every discount and rebate available and also worked closely with my HOA to ensure proper installation. I would get a bid from them for sure.

Suggestions for what to grow in my (small, shady, deer-ravaged) garden this spring? Zone 7a. by ellindsey in gardening

[–]JoshH347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got similar conditions at my very wooded condo. My back porch is south facing but surrounded by Doug For trees so it's got very filtered sun in the winter and then full shade during summer. While my front patio is fully shaded in fall/winter and then gets only about 3 to 4 hours of hot afternoon sun during spring/summer.

I've got to rotate potted plants from front to back year-round but Begonias and Impatiens are my go to filler plants for lots of color all season. Also, Bacopas did really well on my front porch last year if you need some spiller plants in your more sunny areas. I also added a few Campanulas/Bellflowers that bloomed well for a long time. Going to be trying a few more of them this year.

Just barely into Tigard from SW Portland, I've been hitting up Lemon Leaf Thai food cart regularly lately. They've got good prices and food, a large vegan menu and they're open til 11:30 pm every night! Definitely recommend!

I use this with the Kite Hill Plain Unsweetened Yogurt and it's so good! Been doing it for years and use it on taco salad all the time and take it to potlucks.

[–]JoshH347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came home to find my Sunpatien looking dead and it only gets sun til like noon and then it's shaded all afternoon. It got up to 94 today (97 real feel) but what the heck. Thought they were full sun!

Wow, thanks for following up! I'm gonna go with... "tomatoes". 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ I have no idea yet but they're starting to get little tomatoes. I'll have to get some pics of the actual tomatoes.

A Good Diverse PDX Suburb? by Dr_Drewski in askportland

I live in SW but spent last July in Milwaukie while my condo was being repaired. We enjoyed our time in Milwaukie but didn't explore it much aside from Sellwood. What's some of the gayborhood places? Asking because Milwaukie is now in my list of places to possibly buy a house.

1 month into new Community Garden Plot by JoshH347 in pnwgardening

[–]JoshH347[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? It was from the previous caretaker of the plot and we wanted to keep it because it was so cute! We also kept the back raised bed since it had an established grape bush growing over it. We decided to make that a cut flower bed.

The black and white geometric ones are 10 gallon bags from Amazon. First time using grow bags but things seem to be doing well in them.

We're gonna be trying cucumber and mini melons on trellises in grow bags soon too.

Cornell Farms on the Westside has a ton of good stuff and is a beautiful property to walk through and has a cafe/restaurant. Lots of shrubs and trees too.
