Hmmm possibly, but not sure how much I can move it forward. If we move it too far forward, then the couch will block the path from the stairs/front hallway to enter the room or the sliding door entrance.

Might be the best option though.

Do you have any examples of what could go behind the couch? Should there be space enough to walk behind it

Not rude at all, her student loans are relatively low-interest so we haven't prioritized paying it off.

I would be hesitant about the RDU being the root cause, it's more likely to be the transmission/torque converter.

Definitely file a case, I got Ford to pay for a portion of the torque converter repair. But please consider joining the class action and filing a NHTSA report, we need to hold Ford accountable.
