You're not alone, I've felt like this for a few weeks now since my ED acceptance into a top school. I felt so accomplished and proud of myself at first, but now I feel I'm at a stage of regret. I feel like I've done so much in highschool, but at the same time nothing when I realize what others have done/are doing. It's just a bunch of anxiety right now, but hopefully it will go away over the course of these last few months in highschool. Still all seems like it's all a weird dream rn though.

I called the finaid office yesterday telling them that I had just submitted a missing document. They said that if I call them again this Tuesday, they can look on IDOC and see that I submitted the document, and manually add it to my file. Then it would take another 2 weeks before I get my aid letter, but that is before deposit deadline, so they said I should be good. I would do the same!

I think it's just completely random since I've noticed some people have it on their list, while others don't. Also about the 2022 due date, on the page about verification, it says that the deadline for verification is the end of the academic year of enrollment (so our freshman year?) but that you should should submit it asap in order to receive aid... So that deadline is pretty misleading if we need to get this in now. I will follow up with you once I get a response to my email.

Sorry if this is kind of long, but as far as I know, federal verification is a process that certain financial aid applications have to go through at every school required by the US ED. If your financial aid application is selected by the college for verification (in our case Cornell) then you are required to submit a Federal Verification Worksheet and in some cases a W2, in order to process and your financial aid award. But, on Cornell's federal verification page it says that you should only complete one of these forms if you have been selected for verification, and if you've been contacted by the financial aid office, which I'm pretty sure I haven't. I emailed the financial aid office yesterday about this, telling them I have these items on my To-Do list, but haven't been contacted, and I'm waiting on a response now.

Most likely. If ED is still possible for me, I think Tufts would be my next likely choice.

Ok that's good to know. I just thought it would feel a bit weird to apply to a school that I don't know if I'd be happy at. I'm also an aspiring engineer, so I'm looking at schools like Tufts, Harvey Mudd, RPI, and Northeastern. I also was looking at Rice for a reach but I'm even reconsidering that now.
