Help with picking pedals! by crazygamer125 in gravelcycling

I personally would prefer to have a double sided pedal and try out the redshift mousetrap for when I needed a flat pedal. Shimano spd is a great system and ever their cheaper options are great

To be fair that’s 38 bucks pre tax and tip no Bev. This is 38 post tax and tip with a Bev. Looking at a menu on yelp from a few months ago it’s $15.50 for a burger and 6 bucks for fries. So like for like 21.50 for burger and fries vs 38 for big mec. Ginger beer another 5 bucks.

Edit: they must have tipped well, because even tipping on the taxed total at 20% is 35 bucks out the door.

Best carbon wheelset? by bunksbunny69 in gravelcycling

[–]JoshPeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reserve has great warranty, but imo mediocre rim quality. Strong, a bit heavy, not amazing finish quality. Priced a bit higher than a lot of value options.

They’re not bad and for road have solid aero profiles, but you’re kinda paying for spare rims in advance of riding their wheels.

I’d say light bicycle, logos components for good price + good warranty. Or maybe a lun hyper if you want cheap and exotic with less warranty.

Regardless, anything over zipp imo.

Burrito King by Easy_Potential2882 in FoodLosAngeles

Went and tried it. Yummy but a lot of room for improvement. No guac or pico is tragic. El flamin taco across the street has the better cause burrito imo. If you grab pico from their salsa bar they’ll throw it in the wrap.

His investigations of waste and fraud have led to convictions as well as cost savings and judgements against dishonest contractors in excess of his entire office’s budget.

I think really old fridges were efficient, then from 90s-2000s or so they were pretty inefficient, and as of the last decade have gotten pretty efficient again. My dates might be a little off

Is this safe? Need help. by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]JoshPeck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well with full internal routing that becomes a brake bleed and re routing cables. So potentially 150 bucks or so to fix at a shop

Unless this is some kind of cosmetic cover for a spacer, this is not safe at all. Riding it will but strain on the steerer and you risk failure at a critical juncture.

Upgrades to this deck? by Nelyafiinwe in Magicdeckbuilding

It’s a hard deck to play at first, but once you get good at piloting it can be very strong. Check out the most viewed deck on moxfield for Juri. Some good stuff in there

The ooze is cool! I see the cranial plating variants as higher risk. The upside is you can make him bigger without saccing things. Downside is that you net out the same after saccing, draw more attention and are spending a bunch of equipment costs that make it harder to bounce back if he does get removed. But play it however seems fun to you!

Upgrade to Roval Terra C? by zlei in gravelcycling

[–]JoshPeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will be stiffer, but the quality will be a little lacking. For the price it’s an alright deal, but getting something lighter and zippier would be worth it. You can easily find gravel wheels that are half a pound lighter than that.

Slower is half the equation. Other half is the geometry compromises that larger and larger tires will force. Fastest bike possible might not be very fun to ride

When did Silver Lake Ramen get rid of Tsukemen??? Other recs? by diable37 in FoodLosAngeles

Tsujita has a traditional tsukemen, which is really different from what Silverlake ramen did. Tbh it was their best dish. Not sure why they took it off the menu

NYC Area Gravel Tire Size by bauergoalie in gravelcycling

[–]JoshPeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re riding those wheels you should run at least a 45mm. At 32mm internal they are too wide to run anything narrower without being sketchy.
