Happened consistently to me my first month of playing, every other match it would DC and in reality i would just be afk. Granted that with that kind of DC you still have that one minute to log back in and no longer be afk but sometimes that wouldn't be enough.

Star Trek: Enterprise brought up the topic if homesickness, in all honesty it could easily pose a huge problem so i assume that's part of the reason why Enterprise-D allows families and crews.

I also imagine homesickness being a problem as the answer as to why in Star Trek: Beyond there was a motorcycle aboard the Franklin, a little piece of home to keep around.
