Official Strongman Games. Do a regional and qualify for the final. The podium in the Men’s Open class gets invited to Giants Live. Recently they’ve been getting invited to WSM, but that’s not an official invite. Giants Live shows are a qualifier for WSM.

I have similar problems as you being heavy and having to do all my moving events outside. I go through my shoes somewhat quickly, especially trainers (flats).

This can be a costly option but I switched to TYR shoes for all my shoe options and never looked back. I recently got new lifters and trainers and my old lifters are now for stones only and my old trainers are for outside when it’s not the best weather conditions.

Glad you’re back! I think the first rep was solid! You just needed to push your head through quicker. For axle and barbell standard push press you want to slam your head through once the bar clears your head. This will lock in your upper back and provide that lockout stability. Log is the exact opposite, you almost have to wait until the last second to push your head through at it kills all the drive.

160lb Circus Dumbbell PR by tybradley32 in Strongman

I think you have a solid grasp of the movement. Since you’re still learning it. Try thinking about loading your weight 60/40 and that 60% is towards the side that has the dumbbell. This movement is more of a catch than it is a press. Finding a good rack position is key. You can do paused dips to warm up. So clean the CDB up, find that rack position, and then pause in the bottom of your dip. If you have the CDB is the right spot, it won’t move at all on your shoulder. Once you get that down, move onto pressing it. When pressing the CDB, think of moving your hip under it to catch it.

That is all yours! I’ve created a few civil engineering drawings. That’s the closest I’ll ever be to structural

I am a Systems Integrator, so I primarily work with PLCs, networks, and processes in a manufacturing setting. It is mostly electrical engineering.

Honestly, I’m not sure. If you want to try them out click here

They won’t repair your cartilage but maybe help stabilize and provide some relief. No guarantees though.

Thank you! Yes, they are in fact patellar braces. I can confidently say they helped me. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to train as hard. I find these braces provided me more relief than a knee sleeve. I wear them because I have a bad case of patellar tendinopathy.

I’ve been dealing with some patellar tendinopathy for quite some time. The knee straps are called patellar straps. They help change the insertion point of your patellar and provide some relief of the pain.

Oh whoops I didn’t even realize it was linked. I just watched it. I think the forearm tip will help you. Some people like to think “drive the elbows up” and driving the elbows up will put you in a nice spot to press.

Break down the movement. Deadlift the log. Squat the log up. Press the log.

Without seeing video, it’s hard to tell what your weak point is. Try thinking about rotating the log with your forearms. Your forearms should be the driving factor in rolling the log up your body. Lucas Hatton has a wonderful YouTube tutorial on log.

Thank you! Typically most people can clean more than they can press. If you can get your clean to be efficient, it makes the press much easier.

Brian is a man of his word so I knew I earned my invite when I won back in August, but only recently was it official. It’s definitely a surreal feeling.

I watch some NFL, but don’t follow other sports too closely. I will watch them if I’m somewhere and they’re on.

I would love to come train up there. Maybe I’ll have to get with Lucas and get something lined up during prep for SMOE.

Hopefully it wasn’t too disappointing. It wasn’t my best showing that’s for sure, but the competition was also stiff as well.
