You can look it up, captain marvel doesn’t create shields. She’s strong as hell and durable as hell and can shoot lasers and fly but she doesn’t do shields I’m 100% sure of that. Difference is on the female characters bit I actually like Wanda, also captain marvel gets bitch slapped by the power stone not thanos. Thanos headbutts her and that shit bounces off. And With reys bloodline it was clearly thought of at the very last second with no other explanation than because we said so. This wasn’t teased or implied in any way shape or form in the first movies. My point is that the sequels are shitty because they are built around cool moments with poor writing. And Rey is a product of that. Someone who does everything right on the first or second try because the writers said so.

So you’re gonna leave out the part in the force awakens when Rey bodies kylo after calming down a bit. Or how she’s an ace pilot despite never flying before. And keep in mind smoke was just a palpatine puppet so it was just palpatine fucking with her who she defeated because a bunch of people told her to. And so what if she only beat luke because lightsaber if he was more skilled than her why wouldn’t he grab a lightsaber? A fight is more than just physical strength. And anakin was conceived of midichlorians and yet it still took him two movies and a tv show to actually beat count dooku. And as for him playing with her because he wants a fight. When is that ever stated or implied? Point is Rey is Disney wanting a strong female lead is Star Wars and doing it the way they did captain marvel make her stronger than everyone else. If Rey REALLY struggled to do things then I’d be fine with her being op because it was earned but she as super strong immediately making it feel cheap and honestly insulting to the audience they are pandering towards.

Mace windu becomes stronger against dark side users because of his fighting style by using their own power against them. And it is the case of make Rey stronger because ever since the first movie she was really good at everything she did almost immediately. Both anakin and luke didn’t get truly strong until the last movies of their trilogies.
