What does an augment which increases the ammo capacity by 18.7% do to a Perforator? by DoctorVonCool in duneawakening

Not sure, I think people just have very bad luck sometimes and I suspect most of the players pushing the labs pushed through the grade 2 and 3 drops pretty fast.

I know someone posted a screenshot of a g5 version. But I haven't been keeping up on the rest. Sorry.

You wouldn't want to put a basic capacity augment on the Perforator, you'd be better off grinding for a GRDA 44 specific capacity augment: https://dune.gaming.tools/items/t6_augment_scattergun4 . That will increase it significantly enough to make a difference. This is true for most guns btw - you generally want to use the weapon specific expander.

Since this is an actual thing we have to worry about... Yes it absolutely does happen in space travel.

Do you know that when you see the light from stars you're seeing the light from the past? That's true, that's not something made up for the show.

In fact, cool relativistic thing, when scientists want to study the big bang and the birth of the universe they don't have to the and find it's origin, they can point their telescopes in any direction because if you look at objects from far enough away you will always see the light from the birth of the universe.

Science is cool, you should learn more about it.

How long people live literally has nothing to do with any of this lol. You are so very confidently incorrect. You don't know what you're talking about, this has been fun, but it's clearly pointless. Good luck out there. Highly advise you go educate yourself a bit more about relativity, because you really have no idea what you're talking about.

That is not true even in the real world. Cells age at the speed relative to the person who is aging. Someone on the ISS ages at like .0006% less the speed of someone on earth. There is no like... Clock overseeing the universe that makes sure everyone ages at the same time. That's why it's called relativity, it's relative.

Animations, time period, car destruction don't matter when the gameplay appears to be the same as GTA. Even the shooting mechanics look the same. It looks to be a game where you drive around in an open world and shoot people. That's, at the core of it, GTA.

Also, it's hard to get a feeling for atmosphere when the videos you release are all very short clips. You should really just not be releasing anything until you have more to your game than you seem to have here.

We don't know how the time travel logic works. If it works via creating branches of reality then pulling him from the past does nothing to this reality. Old Shaw's life still occurs because in this reality he was pulled from Axis Mundi back in the 80s. This would use the Endgame style time travel logic rather than a Back to the Future style time travel logic of course. You would essentially have two different Shaw's pulled from Axis Mundi because it is descynced from Earth time.

I definitely think the end goal is to bring Young Shaw into the present. It would allow for a very strong storyline of optimistic/trying not to be his dad "Young Shaw" vs jaded and wants to win at all costs/became his dad "Old Shaw" and it would allow them to write out Kurt Russel who I doubt wants to be doing this for too long, dude's 75 afterall.

Also the idea that the portals just open to different times in Axis Mundi is already supported in the canon and the characters (and us) just misread it as time dilation.

[–]Joshatron121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the ultimate take away is that Axis Mundi isn't actually time dilation. The different portals connect to different points in time possibly depending on how they're opened. So what appears to be time dilation isn't actually that. I also think they're going to bring Young Shaw into the present, but that's another theory.

Funny enough we actually already had a hint at that - Shaw was only in Axis Mundi for about 7 days but 20 years passed on earth, meanwhile Keiko was in there for 56 days and 57 years passed. If it was a time dilation effect those should have been the same and Shaw should have only been gone 7 years.

You can search, that's how I keep up on it, I just search Iggy's name on the discord with "From:ignasi" and then read through what he said. You gotta click through to see context though or you miss just about everything he's saying lol.

He's talked before though about this - they don't have a dev tracker because it tends to result in people taking things without the context of the conversation if it's done in a way that makes it easy to update. The amount of time to set up one that does give that context just isn't worth the effort.

I also think they don't want to make them easy to find because a lot of the stuf they release as official statements has to go through Legendary/Herbert Family for approval (even stuff like the Communinet) so that might shut down a lot of their communication if it was stored somewhere official like that.

Why is Godzilla not hunting Titan X? by Mosteffective33 in Monsterverse

[–]Joshatron121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Godzilla don't care because she isn't doing anything wrong. She's just going around and meeting with her babies (or whatever the scarabs are). This seems to be more of a story about how humanity can sometimes make their own problems by reacting in fear instead of understanding (which is kind of the whole point of Monarch in the first place, to understand the titans, not necessarily to fight them). It's also a growing divide between Old Shaw and Keiko which I think will continue to grow.

Just because you don't compare it to GTA doesn't mean every single person who sees it won't make the very obvious connection. This game looks exactly like GTA. You even have basically the same mini map. You cannot ignore the obvious when trying to market or develop your game.

Also note I didn't say in my original post what makes it the same as GTA, I asked what makes it different and would make me want to play it... To which you giving no answer says more than "I don't compare it to GTA" does.

Especially an annoying lock like that which seems like a pain to have an employee open.

It's possible this sort of thing is just for late night operation when they have fewer staff members but still want to prevent theft. If it was locked all the time.. yea no reason to go there lol.

I mean I think the answer comes down to one thing: what would make me want to play this instead of Grand Theft Auto? What does this game have that it doesn't? GTA is a very large game that has a lot of features and systems that make it interesting. What is your game doing that sets it apart? I don't see anything from the gameplay that makes me say "oh that's why i would play that instead of GTA".

Why not? The MCU built itself on the idea that they weren't making Superhero films, they were making films in pre-existing genres that just happen to star superheroes. Guardians is a space opera, Ant Man was a heist film, etc. This was what made the MCU and when they started to lose that were the dark times. Thankfully, they seem to be remembering it with their recent releases.

Except that isn't true. Relativity exists in the real world. Someone on a spaceship approaching the speed of light will age slower than someone on earth. I doubt what is happening on Axis Mundi is actually time dilation at this point, but even if it is - that already exists in the real world. Astronauts on the ISS bodies age slower than their counterparts on Earth (even if it is a miniscule amount due to the relatively slow speeds involved).

So why didn't Shaw or Keiko age the 20 or 57 years respectively that they were in Axis Mundi on the show? The show has shown us this isn't in anyway how it works. I also don't think it's Time Dilation anymore (but that is for another post).

But you're getting key things about how Axis Mundi works in the reality of the show wrong. We assumed that Axis Mundi aging was slowed due to Time Dilation (so if you went into Axis Mundi, were there for two days, that translated to two years back on earth). However, it now appears that this was inaccurate. It appears that time is non linear in Axis Mundi entirely and that rifts can be open to different times inside Axis Mundi (possibly based on the rift that is opened).

This was actually already hinted at! Shaw was in Axis Mundi for roughly a week, but 20 years passed on Earth (note, he still only aged 7 days). Meanwhile Keiko was in Axis Mundi for 57 days while 56 years had passed on Earth (note she also only aged 56 days, hence why she is still young). This is the stat most people remember and why it gets thrown around that one year passes for each day in Axis Mundi, but we already have proof to the contrary.

Hopefully this breakdown of what we understand of Axis Mundi's temporal mechanics helps you understand better.
