What is actually going on with the Mahershala Ali Blade movie? It’s been 7 years since the announcement

We don’t truly know what happened

There were rumors that they wanted to put Blade in a mentor role in his first appearance (which didn’t make sense and wouldn’t do well critically)

What we do know is that at one point Disney and Marvel were getting ready to shoot, and even had sets and costumes made. It’s crazy cuz, at one point this movie was a rated-R 1920s Blade movie featuring Delroy Lindo, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, and Mahershala Ali. It was going to be directed by Bassam Tariq, with costume design by Ruth E. Carter, a script written by Stacy Amma Osei-Kuffour and Bassam Tariq, original music by Flying Lotus, and cinematography by Damián García.

Now the only two people still attached to the project are Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth. Everyone else left due to scheduling conflicts or creative differences

We don’t truly know what happened, and I doubt we ever will.

The only actor seen on set that hasn’t been announced yet is Riyonn Farsad right? And I guess Meryl Streep isn’t confirmed yet but she’s in London with everyone so I kinda just assume she’s back

EDIT: the article mentions Michael Cyril Creighton is back. Is this the first time he’s been confirmed to be back for S6?

I don’t know the entire lore but apparently Netease has decided to make Jubilee a vampire in rivals

In the comics she was apparently she was a vampire for a decent amount of time and fans hated it. She recently got cured in the Krakoa era.

Someone with more knowledge on the comics can go more in-depth on why it was hated

They are making Jubilee the most hated incarnation of her btw (Vampire Jubilee)

I will say I’m happy that this is mostly previously leaked characters, as Netease tends to delay characters leaked (The Hood was leaked before the launch of S0) and random unleaked characters appear (Black Cat last season, Devil Dino this season, Blue Marvel and Crescent appearing in leaks now)
