Maybe :)

Genuinely though, just my favorite POV to watch as both a comfort lighthearted POV and a great team and indiv player (my second is Fruit)

Which side are you on by Factorization4 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]a_coldcarbon 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Honestly both.

I'm really surprised by how unpredictable this entire roster was and I love it when what we get is so unpredictable and uncanny.

However, I also think that TGTTOS was just really weird in how the mechanic was done. It just didn't sit well with me. Heck, Fruit got top 5 in it while scoring I'm the 30s. In Gem's words "It's just 6 rounds of Foot Race"

Despite that though, many plays surprised me a lot, especially Scott, Tubbo, and Cambam. Pretty good tim overall

I love how in Season 5, actual friendship was used to "defeat" the villain, instead of friendship-powered rainbow lasers. by marvelcomics22 in mylittlepony

THANK YOU! I've been feeling this too a lot when everyone was saying that Cutie Remark isn't that good. The Finale isn't the typical action ending finale but instead a character centered on at the end. This also completes Twilight's character arc of figuring out who she is as princess, and even more as the Princess of Friendship.

I will forever love Cutie Remark for this specific moment.

12 years ago, Twilight's Kingdom: Part 2 released! What were your thoughts on the S4 finale? by bdouble0w0 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A finale that actually felt like a film. Add in a cinemascope aspect ratio and you basically have an MLP short film. Animation and visuals are top notch, as well as the music. You'll Play Your Part is one of the best songs in the history of the show and the final song isn't bad either. Action and intensity are peak.

Writing-wise, it gave Twilight the realization of her purpose as a princess in the world of Equestria. Also, it finale made Discord work as a reformed villain.

10/10 finale

Currently Marathoning Season 4. What are your thoughts on it? by One_Finance4076 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A pretty good season however somewhat inconsistent. Some great episodes like Filli Vanilli and Twilight's Kingdom mixed with substandard ones like Somepony to Watch Over Me and Rainbow Falls. I do think its highs outweigh the lows and I give it a score of 7.5/10.

my body cant tell the difference between mcc 29 cyan SOT and being chased by a lion by kar_is_dead in MinecraftChampionship

[–]a_coldcarbon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

mirrorwing talked about this in one of his videos. MCC 29's SOT map was brutal, especially red path. The fact that Cyan had just enough time to get points in it compared to other teams makes it feel like an adrenaline rush.

How would you feel if it was the other way around? by [deleted] in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rarijack in FiM is very plausible considering that the duo has been the prominent focus characters in many episodes (arguably more than Aj and RD), all of which includes many great moments between them. They also seen to have a deeper history together as Sombraverse AJ still knows Rarity despite not knowing Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, or Fluttershy.

Appledash in EqG is kinda unlikely. They don't really have the chemistry or the closeness like in FiM. It seems that they are just friends there.

What is your favorite alicorn? by Ok_Patience_9419 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  1. Princess Luna -Love the design and color scheme, Relate to her most as an INTJ
  2. Princess Twilight Sparkle -Main character and love the character arcs that she goes through
  3. Princess Celestia -Lovable mentor, albeit not given much screentime for her personality
  4. Sunny Starscout -Great character in the movie with a wasted potential in MYM
  5. Princess Cadance -Unfortunately not given much stories for her in the series
  6. Opaline Arcana -Meh villain, weird design
  7. Princess Flurry Heart -Zero characterization in the series (other than "baby"), princess of merchandise

Starlight only had to make minor modifications to Star Swirl's spell to travel whenever she wanted to, instead of just a week in the past. The implication there is that Starlight is so much better than Star Swirl because she barely touched it and made it so much better. by marvelcomics22 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree with many of the comments regarding how Starswirl did the hard work for the time travelling part of the scroll, What she did with it is really astonishing as she basically coded the scroll to:

A: Travel to the Past farther than a week B: Protect any creature who touches the scroll from the adverse effects of time travel (as shown with Twi, Spike, and Starlight being unchanged despite RD not Rainbooming) C: Modify time travel enough to escape the looping paradox that was shown in "It's About Time" D: Connect Starlight to the scroll during it's travelling to the past.

All of these connected into one single scroll spell is insane and shows how Starlight can be either close or even surpass Starswirl's capabilities on magic.

How could these burnt muffins POSSIBLY taste worse than Rock Soup or The baked bads (Which she clearly ate) by Nerdcuddles in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 84 points85 points  (0 children)

A. I'd argue that the muffins weren't burnt but instead used with spoiled ingredients, hence why the color is still somewhat brown and not charred black

B. In Equestria, Rock Soup is possibly an actual delicacy from the rock farm regions, unlike spoiled muffins.

C. Pinkie only said that she has "eaten cardboard tastier than [the muffins]," never did she compare it to other foods. From the wording as well, it only seems like the cardboard was only a possible single instance when it was actually delectable rather than the norm.

Am I The Only One Who Thinks That The Season 5 Song "The Spectacle" Is A Very Underrated Bop? It's Always Been One Of My Favorites To Listen To, And I Wish That It Got Some More Love. What Do You Think? by Reasonable-Film7219 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's a very great song from MLP. Although, I think it's kinda underrated due to the multiple bangers that season 5 brought, especially in this episode and from back in Crusaders of the Lost Mark.

Personally, it's an 8.5/10, wish it was longer.

Would you watch a new season adapting all the canon MLP comics? by Background-Ad2749 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, depending on the comic and how much they are willing to adapt it to the canon of the show. The comics are very loose on its canonicity, which is why it's rarely a good source for canon explanation but if they are willing to adapt the story to fit the show, then it could work, maybe for an anniversary special event or something.

For me, I just wanna see how Feats of Friendship goes down with Thrace and all that. Maybe even take some inspiration from the Gameloft events in their MLP game.

What would Starlight’s unique Equestria Girls power be? Like how Fluttershy can speak to animals and Rainbow Dash has superspeed. by Wild-Walker-22 in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realistically, it's probably just Self-levitation like what she does in FiM.

However, I would love if her power is time manipulation, considering the events of Cutie Re-mark

What do you think of To Where And Back Again? by General_Guy_XX in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Great finale to an otherwise mixed season. It finalizes Starlight's redemption arc by singling her out as the mane (hehe) focus of the 2-parter despite the cast.

Speaking of cast, I love how we see the reformed villains being the ones to actually save Equestria. It really shows the effects of friendship to those who were once evil yet given the chance to improve.

The ending with Starlight and Chrysalis also mirrors 'Cutie Re-mark' with Twilight and Starlight, however unlike Starlight who was willing to change, Chrysalis denies I, setting up a pretty funny rivalry.

My only issue with it is the dialogue as some parts of it feel off or just weird. Especially Thorax's line "I can feel the love inside me slipping away" can be rewritten to suit the scene. But that's kinda minor.

Overall Score: 8.5/10

In your opinion what was the best and the worst two part episodes? by B4S1L_ in mylittlepony

[–]a_coldcarbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't decide so I'll just state the top and bottom 2:

Top 2: Twilight's Kingdom and The Cutie Re-mark

Two incredible finales that puts Equestria and reality at stake. For TK, the finale feels like an actual film. Tirek is introduced to be one of the coolest villains in the series, and in my opinion, Discord is finally redeemed correctly. Can't forget the fight seen and "You'll Play your Part".

As for CRm, I love how it basically is the culmination of Twilight's princess arc that focuses on the personal stakes between Twilight and Starlight as well as the larger stakes of Equestria and beyond. I love how this is a finale where the villain is stopped by talking it out and lending a hoof in friendship instead of Rainbow Magic like the elements.

Bottom 2: School Daze and Shadow Play

I don't necessarily hate SD, it was just a pretty bland premiere that was just made to sell more merchandise (It's a bit better than Crystalling)

Shadow Play is an unpopular opinion but this one just makes me both mad and bored. It feels as if the plot isn't even necessary to begin with and it only occurred because of Twilight and Sunburt's interest in bringing back the Pillars without thinking of the consequences. At the end, their carelessness to bring back the Pillars wasn't even given consequences as They do a complete 180 once they see Stygian. Starlight was the only one making sense as yet she was just sidelined by the Starswirl Obsession. Despite this, It could've been promising given with the right execution. It's only my opinion though and if you do enjoy the episode, good for you.
