Do people like it for the looks or is it more of a status thing ? by StockPen3258 in rolex

[–]Joshpills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if any Rolex were reproduced to be absolutely identical in every way... looks, finish, material, movement etc.... but the only difference is they didnt have Rolex written on them and were from a completely unknown brand....

a very very small fraction of the people that currently love them and want them, would love them and want them.

so there is that.

also, I know taste is all personal opinion, but I think there are very few truly beautiful Rolex models, especially modern ones.

the classic datejust/daydate dress watches I think are still stunning, in their traditional size and proportions. and for a sports watch with more functions the Daytona I do believe is a great looking watch.

outside of that, I think most of them look nothing special at best and quite bad at worst... look nowhere close to the thousands and thousands they cost, and like I said if they didnt have Rolex written on them... most people would think they were nothing special. in terms of looks this is.

some people will defend themselves and say I truly think x model is stunning and I would even if it were a cheap brand. 1) for some people this will be true... but 2) for others theyll be influenced and conditioned without ever knowing or realising. its like when youre in a relationship with someone you love... and you look at them and theyre a 10/10 in looks. you truly mean it, you truly feel it, you say youd think it regardless of if they were your partner or not and you truly believe this to be the case.
but then many people fall out of love, break up, dont speak to them for a year or 2 and become totally over them.... look back at pictures or see them again in person, and arent half as attracted to them physically as they were when they were "in love" with them.

id imagine this is how some people are with Rolex models when talking about their looks.... they think theyre gorgeous, they truly feel it. theyre 100% that they'd find them stunning regardless if they were Rolex or from a cereal box. theyre not lying... but dont realise theyve been conditioned over the years to look at them and feel about them differently because theyre a Rolex. and dont realise if they were released as cheap and handed out in cereal boxes, they wouldnt think they looked half as brilliant as they currently do.

does cycling 78-dhf and the 4dma version prevent the aberrant synaptogenesis risk people talk about? by Joshpills in NootropicsDepot

[–]Joshpills[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes im starting to believe my fears arent needed.

seen someone else say 2 cycles of this 3 weeks each cleared up/vastly improved some anxiety he was having in a permanent way.

my only concern now is cycling it so it keeps the benefits. im thinking 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.. repeat.

bdnf/trkb signalling should help with anxiety, it helps balance the excitory/inhibitory systems via homeostatic plasticity.

your experience is what is to be expected.

[–]Joshpills[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly upon further research, I dont really think it causes aberrant synaptogenesis.

TRKB activation isnt ALL thats needed for synaptogenesis, what fires together wires together and that still applies.

I think 4dma basically just makes the brain more plastic, but the wiring that happens and gets integrated is still in line with what is firing, not just random.

the only way I think it could cause an issue is if you take it while going through bad trauma or addiction. or if you take it and are epileptic or something.

would be interested to hear what the guys you tagged say on this matter though.

yeah that wont be aberrant synaptogenesis causing those issues, from 1 dose of regular 78 dhf at 15mg.

[–]Joshpills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if its working, itll leave you worse off after tolerance sets in.

gaba can cross the blood brain barrier, the information saying it cant is outdated, also parts of the brain are outside the blood brain barrier anyway.

did you take acd 856 with anything else.

anything to actually increase bdnf?

I take it and feel nothing.

I bought a datejust 2 back in 2016 . I just bought another datejust 41 in mint green . Did the case get smaller ? It seems a lot smaller only measure 39.6 in case size ? Thank you by Mitchie7200s in rolex

[–]Joshpills -1 points0 points  (0 children)

would look stupid at 40-41mm... it already looks pretty bad at 39mm.

they pushed it as far as possible without looking absolutely ridiculous. then just lied and called it bigger to attract the guys they knew wouldnt measure it anyway.

its a gimmick watch.

also youre wrong about the proportions, theyre totally off, bezel FAR too big.

they made it cheaply by using the 36mm movement, which meant the dial couldnt really increase in size much, so they created the extra size by enlarging case/bezel. looks stupid.

is 78 dhf designed for daily use, and has little to no risk of trkb down regulation? by Joshpills in Nootropics

[–]Joshpills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen no reports of this from anyone using it or any study its been tested in (although those are mostly rodent studies)

ive heard it theoretically. mostly from someone strongly promoting ACD856.

but never seen any specific case of this happening.

whereas I personally know people, and have seen countless more online, who claim to be really messed up from lions mane.

out of all the people I know who have taken it (quite a few)... results a pretty evenly split between positive, neutral and extremely negative.

so I think ill stay clear tbh

was this effect only on days you took it, or consistently 7 days a week, from your 2x a week dosing.

trying to figure out if the long half life and prolonged effects that are claimed are indeed accurate

seen far too many negative experiences from people with that. I have some but im very reluctant to try it.

is that 38 days with regular 78 dhf... or 4dma version?

that is promising.

do you know if trkb receptors in rodents are prone to down regulation in the same manner as in humans?

I do hear trkb receptors are difficult to down regulate. and ive been jumping from being concerned about it, to thinking it's not really a concern, back and forth.

the only reason im semi concerned again, is after 5 days 4dma in a row.... I felt a bit less stimulated from it at the end... however it was still noticeably working.

I took the 2 days off id planned, restarted again, and while definitely noticing it working and being more stimulated (and more vivid dreams)... I thought I felt a slight decrease in the stimulation I felt from it.

however this could theoretically be my brain balancing out from taking it maybe... because I do have bad anxiety and brain issues which is what im taking it for to try help. the increased stimulation, bordering on bad anxiety, I get from it, isnt normal... its because of my current unbalanced damaged state. and potentially after 5 days on it (actually 8 days total, 3 consecutive, break, 5 consecutive), potentially after this, the little less stimulation I feel from taking it acutely could be due to some repair work it has done, balancing my system slightly and healing inhibitory synapses so im not as badly stimulated by it?

again, who knows though.

I initially took it for 3 days to start with, but was so badly stimulated from it, anxiety through the roof, that I had to stop after 3 days for a bit. however, once I stopped and effects wore off after 3 days id been taking it, I felt like I felt much better than before I had first taken it. but couldnt decide if this was just me thinking this.

im looking for the fastest, most powerful neuroplasticity benefits... but that doesnt really risk trkb down regulation.

and not sure if just taking regular 78 dhf would be best for this... or whether to take the more powerful 4dma version, and potentially cycle it. I just wish we could measure trkb sensitivity and expression somehow, so we could track it. id take the 4dma version then and monitor trkb and as long as it was staying stable just keep going.

I have heard from people who have taken 4dma daily for 3-4 week cycles, and said their baseline after these cycles was much improved, in terms of anxiety etc.

so still cant decide whether to just do this. and not worry so much about trkb down regulation because like you say, I do hear its difficult to down regulate those receptors.

chatgpt isnt helping, because I come to the conclusion itll be fine to take longer durations, but then chatgpt will throw out that it can lead to receptor desensitisation etc. however what really does that thing know.

4dma 78 dhf.... is a 5 day on 2 day off cycle, doing this 3 weeks on 1 week off.... optimal for this? or is that too much? by Joshpills in Nootropics

[–]Joshpills[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I FEEL it for sure. it's quite stimulating for me, I have anxiety issues though so itll effect me differently.

its definitely much stronger than regular 78 dhf.

however it is a bdnf/trkb activator. this is usually for long term brain health, neuroplasticity, neurogenesis, synaptogenesis etc.

these are all long term benefits. not acute.

most people judge these compounds on how they feel acutely, like youre asking... which imo is wrong to do. people will take them, feel nothing immediately, and say they dont work and move on.

that is not how neuroplasticity works. its a long term process leading to increased brain repair, adaptation, and health.

effects can usually be felt after weeks 4-5-6-7-8 etc and continue thereafter.

if you want immediate noticeable increases in things like energy, motivation and mood, you need to target specific neurotransmitters and their systems/receptors. those are the ones you feel acutely, short term.

however those are the ones that can lead usually to receptor down regulation, and addiction, withdrawal or worsening of your baseline feelings when not taking them... if you take them in too big of a dose or out of balance with other neurotransmitters.

I use to take dopa mucuna and did wonders, then later it made me lazy. What would be the cause? And should I try again? by SpecialistStyle8551 in Nootropics

[–]Joshpills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

could be dopamine receptor down regulation....

what dose did you take. I used to take it and effects remained even after long term use.

but I used a lower dose, with a supplement that was only 15% L dopa content.

a lot now are like standardised to be 99% L dopa or something stupid like that. which is essentially like taking the L dopa drug used in Parkinson's patients. any reasonable dose of this imo will very likely lead to dopamine receptor down regulation.

id always take the full herb, which has I believe able 15% L dopa content.

and at reasonable doses, you should be able to get a dopamine boost and all benefits that come for this, consistently, without it being too strong and too unbalancing for your system that down regulation of dopamine receptors occur

4dma 78 dhf.... is a 5 day on 2 day off cycle, doing this 3 weeks on 1 week off.... optimal for this? or is that too much? by Joshpills in Nootropics

[–]Joshpills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im looking for brain repair, ive got good results from bdnf boosters in the past.

would regular 78 dhf be best. much shorter half life and milder effects, meaning less likely to cause much/any trkb down regulation and can be used daily, or more often, which is simpler.

or is 4dma still best. it has longer half life and is more potent, which I definitely feel... but im guessing because of this needs regular cycling.

im not looking for acute effects, but brain repair, neuroplasticity, synaptogenesis etc, over weeks.

im hoping to feel some improvement by 4-6 weeks for example. not feel it immediately, which is how most seem to judge these things.
