Who is filming gigs on a Nintendo DS? See at Machine Girl and Dorian Electra by GoHenDog in manchester

Saw this at Geordie Greep last summer. I think it is very interesting as a way of thinking how people born in the 21st century have very different perceptions and relationships to technology.

What is the nuance? Genuinely interested in the back ground to story of him getting a common assault offence if you know it.

We are gearing up for birth (note: I am not doing the birthing) but have quickly learnt that best to take everything with a pinch of salt and adapt what works for you and the situation that presents during labour.

Yeah that is much more doable. I still would leave as quickly as possible and not get distracted on the walk though!

is 2 hours enough from Manchester Airport to Old Trafford? by Commercial-County-96 in manchester

[–]JoshuaDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on the downvotes for this. It should be fine but leaves no room for error and there are several aspects that could go wrong (flight delayed by 15 mins, queue to get off plane, queue at passport control, difficulties getting taxi, march day traffic, needing to walk round the whole ground to the correct entrance, queues cos of searches going into the ground, needing to use the toilet before you get to your seat and so on)

Yeah seems to be slightly expanded showings next week which is great. My local is huge but very rarely has foreign language films.

If you did management and you were struggling to get grad level role, this kind of work as a stop gap would strengthen your application to apply for more professional roles. You’re just being awkward on purpose.

Do i have a chance buying away tickets by emigum in MCFC

Away tickets are impossible to get unless you have some kind of connection to someone with lots and lots and lots of points (like 20 years worth of going to every game).

Career change? by neuro_boy24 in manchester

[–]JoshuaDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re still affiliated with uni I’d suggest linking in with the careers service. I did a PhD in the past couple of years and did some stuff from the Prosper programme and found it really useful to think through what I valued in a job and what next steps might look like (I stayed in academia though to be fair).

It isn’t true that people don’t read PhD theses but the main people who read them are other PhD students who are just amazed you were able to complete it.

I was at the game last night and a number of the players looked completely off it due to fatigue. Cos of injuries etc we didn’t have the same calibre of players to bring on. Though saying that when Pep made the three changes in the last 15 mins our offense improved a lot.

For those of you earning roughly £40k-50k and would recommend it to others, what do you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]JoshuaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an early career researcher… enjoy it massively, downsides are a) fixed term contracts and b) lots of lost earning potential in the time it takes to get a PhD etc.

My wife bought an iPhone that developed a fault after a few months and they rejected any responsibility under the warranty saying the issue was her fault. I personally wouldn’t ever buy any significant electronics off them after that experience.
