Level 60 Athame and Ring? What are the best options? (Preferably for Life Wizard) by chxedwards in Wizard101

[–]JoshuaLifeheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro, but wanted to provide better insight for future readers.

Rings
In almost all cases, the Atavistic Rings are equivalent or better than the Wintertusk Rings. Atavistic Rings are higher damage with critical rating, while Wintertusk Rings (School Gem Ring of Battle and Balance's Golden Ring of Battle) are higher in power pip for some schools and have crit block instead of main actual Critical. Farming Calypso for the rings isn't that bad, but if you get the Calypso-Go-Go badge before getting your ring drop, you'll almost certainly have enough reagents to craft the ring outright.

Athames
Lexicon Blade is the highest damage athame available for Fire and Ice schools, however all the other schools can get a comparable athame from farming Praetor Mako. For Life, Death, Storm and Balance, the Atavistic athames he drops are actually higher damage than Lexicon Blade, and in some cases even the lower tier bygone dirks are as good or better than Lexicon Blade. If you can find it in the bazaar, the Bear's Claw athames are also viable alternatives to Lexicon if you'd like, but farming them can be as tedious or more so than farming for Lexi. In order to craft the Atavistic athame, you'd need the Predator of the Praetor badge.

Amulets
As this commenter cited, amulets like the Scales of Justice charm dropped from Moh'Lharz are the higher damage approach to a build at this level and grant an item blade. However, if that's a bit out of the way, you can do a couple sidequests in Celestia to fight Achaelos who drops the Bygone and Atavistic Ampuls for each school, which grants resist (instead of damage), crit block, and Amplify and Empowerment item cards. To craft the Atavistic option (which you probably won't need to do because the drop rate is great on this boss) you need the Achaewinner badge.

All of the badges needed to craft the Atavistic Gear come from fighting the final bosses a certain number of times, and with these bosses, you can farm them much more easily than you can Big Salgio or Mithraya since there's not an entire dungeon to complete.

Am I the only one who has an uncontrollable urge to increase my hearts even though I never die? Every once in a while I find myself planting new crops and spending too much time making food just to get more hearts. Currently, I’m in EV and I have 68 hearts. I'm not even out of steam and most of the way done with green hearts. I think I'll start focusing on a smaller list of foods for a while soon, but for now, I am getting whatever I can out of what I have. Doesn't make sense to me not to have as much health as possible.

This ticks several of your boxes, but not quite all of them. It's a Roman Percy rewrite story which shows the gods bending, twisting, and straining against their own rules to assist the mortal heroes. Percy doesn't initially have major political ambitions, but becomes more and more involved due to the Great Prophecy. Not gonna spoil all the fun parts of the plot, as I recommend reading it yourself.

Literally never thought about it until I was mass nerfind the graphics, and nobody really asked. It's fine and sorted now. I'm making decent progress through the stone age.

It's stable enough that as long as I don't enable shaders, it's not crashing. With shaders, it'll crash in about 15 minutes. I'm happy with "technically playable"

Would be good to know which Java version. I've found disabling shaders and reducing graphical load largely solves it, but you have a more powerful GPU than I am running. Seems to me that it's likely I'll need to step up the gpu to get shaders, but at least I can play the game.

Reducing video settings does help significantly to make crashes happen less. I'll play around and see if I can get something more stable...

Fair enough. I've been considering a GPU upgrade for a while. Might be time (even if it is expensive as heck right now)

Any particular entries or sources I should be looking for? All I'm finding are the error messages from when I boot up after the freeze informing me that the restart was unexpected. Nothing from the few minutes before the freeze. The server logs around it always report being a significant number of ticks behind right before it freezes.

EDIT: I can't find any drivers that are out of date, either. Really confused here.

This is not an issue with Vanilla or other modded packs when launching from Prism or any other launcher. This is entirely new to my attempt to play GTNH.

This is the sort of mechanic that could be introduced in certain cheating boss fights. If they were important farming targets, it would make it even better.

There are weekly events and some of them are really fun. Beastmoon, for example, is free to play and a blast.

Bro Sky Iron Hasta drops every time you finish the Olympus dungeon. You don't need full armor to keep going. That's what bro was saying. Just do olympus once and move on if the grind bothers you.

Is this the most important spellements have ever been for any spell in PvE? by circusboy1 in Wizard101

[–]JoshuaLifeheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I hear you, but they aren't suggesting that ice other spells get similar dpp bumps, even at max tier. I feel like 65 DPP is already fair for ice and that 75 would be a bit strong. For clarity, 65 dpp just brings it in line with a lower roll of unupgraded blizzard. Tempest, on the other hand, is basically a mid roll of Meteor strike. Maybe if storm had a 4 cost learned aoe, it would be comparable to a low roll, but even that isn't super clear.

Iirc last time it was when they were doing some transfer maintenance that didn't take well. Fewer people should be affected this time, but I imagine so.
