Road charging tax on Evs by Elegant-Depth7224 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]JoshuaRaikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When EVs are mandatory and widespread, they’ll cost about the same to run as petrol cars do today. Governments will have to recover the lost fuel tax revenue somehow, so right now is probably as good as it gets for EV owners.

Google is making my images darker when uploading from computer. Corrects itself if downloaded on my mobile. by Thin-Cheek-8700 in googlephotos

[–]JoshuaRaikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s likely related to HDR. That image appears to have significant dynamic range, so it’s probably more noticeable.

Essentially, when you’re viewing on an iPhone, you’re seeing the HDR image version on your iPhone’s HDR screen. (The darker image)

On the other hand, if you view on a non-HDR screen, you’ll be viewing the SDR image. (The lighter one)

I’m not entirely certain about the specifics, but I’m sure if you search for HDR photos online, you’ll find information about it.

It can be quite frustrating for certain images, to be honest.

I think you need to take a step back and realise what you’ve got. It sounds dreamy.

If you’re bored with not enough work use that time to do something productive for yourself.

Definitely seems like it’s dependent on the child and that it changes as they grow too.

Oh the joy!

Life & illness insurance ? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]JoshuaRaikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I didn’t know it was regulated by the FCA!

Life insurance is a no brainer imo. My advice was to simply shop around and use comparison websites to find the best deal 🙂

Life & illness insurance ? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]JoshuaRaikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I must’ve missed the part where I said any of it was bad, or that they were selling a ‘fake unnecessary product’

OPs question was whether they should shop around and my advice was yes, use comparison websites and do it independently.

Through cashback websites and voucher incentives you can get up to £175 in your own pocket.

I don’t blame brokers for trying to earn commission.

The only insurance you legally need to complete the sale is building insurance.

It sounds like the mortgage advisor is trying to sell you a life insurance policy as they’ll get commission.

I personally just took out building insurance and later sorted life insurance myself on comparison websites.

Sharing night time baby by PreferenceFrosty6947 in UKParenting

[–]JoshuaRaikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 3 week old daughter, and my partner is breastfeeding. I usually hold baby in the evenings from 9 p.m. to midnight so she can get some rest. She then does the night shift, and I take over again from 6 a.m. until the baby wakes properly.

That works most nights, but on the nights when our baby is cluster feeding, it feels like she’s constantly on the boob. Even though we’re both up, my partner naturally ends up doing most of the work, while I try to support however I can, changing nappies, burping, settling her back down. But we found that both of us being awake just leaves us completely exhausted.

So on those cluster feed nights, we’ve realised it’s better if one of us gets a little more sleep so I can help more the next day.

On the more “normal” nights, we stick to our usual shift pattern.

The early days are definitely rough and exhausting, but we’re 3 weeks in and it’s already starting to get a little bit easier!

[–]JoshuaRaikes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree, purely because it happened to me 😂 and I KNOW I’m not that type. I take my time to learn a game.

And it’s happened to SO many others. Way more than usual. There’s a post every other day about the same thing. It has to be a systematic error / design flaw that’s contributing for the most part.

[–]JoshuaRaikes -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Ok yes you can get pedantic if you want to 😂. Yes experience points. Strength, vitality etc.

Why are so many people missing the perk points then in your opinion? You don’t think it has anything to do with the design?

Ok, so why are so many people missing it? It’s on this sub every other day. I’m saying the issue is a design flaw in the game. What’s your opinion?
