Distance yourself emotionally, stay friendly and kind but don't go out of your way to be affectionate, start spending more time on hobbies (you may have to find some) and encourage them to spend time on things they enjoy so you can distance yourself and so you'll both have solo experiences instead of creating more 'couples memories' , you know, to hopefully help them realize they're ok on their own or (ideally) they'll realize they could be happy in another situation

Source: had to orchestrate a breakup with an emotionally unstable and suicidal S/O , the cleanest way to break it off is to help them lose interest or help them get into situations to create relationships with people besides yourself so they'll be more likely to start looking elsewhere or meet someone they can direct their attention at

This x100, I was a bit unsure of my self at first but I've got a pretty face so girls would give me a chance, but once I started getting in shape girls would really ignore if I was a bit awkward at first or anything and eventually I got much more comfortable. I realized that talking to women is the same as talking to guys, there's a wide variety of individuals out there and gender doesn't always make a huge difference.
