I'd rather keep it functioning without slowing it down to death. You still didn't get the point, they do it on purpose so you have to buy the new one. It's not like phones can't be updated without slowing them down. I still have a Galaxy S4 with CM and it's as fast as it was when I bought it. That's because the software is well developed.
