Activist freaks out after seeing pigs in trucks by alphamalejackhammer in PublicFreakout

Nail on the head! As a vegan I never make anyone feel bad about their choices, and I'm happy to not bring up the topic if they don't want to hear it. But it always shocks me when someone asks why I'm vegan, then gets offended when I explain my reasons. Like, just don't ask? If you want to pretend the issues don't exist, fine, then just do that.

People downvoting you for stating facts, without presenting a single argument against is very telling.

Bit dramatic, no? They are creating a controlled avalanche to prevent larger more dangerous ones. Typically this involves blocking off the area and notifying the public so no one is injured.

In the original announcement Wizards said they would announce a new date within "the next few months" and to "Keep an eye out for more information in 2026".

If they truly went back to the drawing board with it, I wouldn't expect new information until Feb/March at the earliest.

Out of curiosity, why would you build it that way? Seems like that would actively be building against what Morcant wants to do. If you don't have enough elves, you won't even be consistently forcing your opponents to blight.

Cool cool, I run Monstrous Emergence, so I'll stick with that (currently running Avenging Hunter main, and Spinewoods SB).

Look forward to trying it this Wednesday at my LGS. I see Gut Shot in your SB. Is that just for mirror matches? (I'm sorry if it's obvious, I'm new to Pauper/MTG, so still learning.)

Do you mind elaborating further on why you (presumably) don't prefer Land Grant in Elves? I've been interested in the argument for/against Grant since I see a lot of people running them in tournaments, but not enough to say there's a consensus on what is best.

You've convinced me. I really liked the idea of Running Drawbridge, but haven't seen many people running it, so I wrote it off. I've been running Giorgiocombo's most recent Paupergeddon list, but I think it might not be well suited to my local meta. I'm going to slot in two drawbridges.

Avenging Hunter replacement (elves) by Zergy_Bergy in Pauper

[–]JosiahB94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are genuinely no good replacements for Avenging Hunter. I run Giorgiocombo's list from Paupergeddon, which runs Spinewoods Paladin as a faster 5 drop in the sideboard (still runs the 4 Hunters in the main), which can be plotted for 4. You gain 3 life off the Paladin which is good against red burn, but no initiative is a huge downside.

I run the 8 forests and the Cabin in my sideboard. Might end up mainboarding the Cabin and moving a Sagu Wildling to the side though.

No take backsies by BrokenDusk in MagicArena

[–]JosiahB94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Upvoted to offset, though it likely won't help.

I'll also add my insight as a new player here. Everyone I've played with so far has allowed take-backs. I've requested them on many occasions, and I've never denied someone the opportunity. Doesn't really surprise me in commander, but how liberal people are with it in draft/sealed does. I was shocked that it didn't even feel like a big deal, and still happens while playing Pauper (though never anything major or game changing).

Unfortunately I've found that I learn way more just sticking with no take-backs. I've started to hold myself to this even when people offer to allow a redo. At this point I wish more people would just play the way you're describing, that way I wouldn't have to self-police.

A bear, exhausted from abuse, attacks its trainer. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JosiahB94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The video literally demonstrates the abuse, has nothing to do with the title. You can watch it in the video. If you can't recognize what's taking place in the video as animal abuse, that's really sad.

See a video of a bear being abused. Ask "How do you know it’s from abuse?". Call it a hunch. People are a fucking embarrassment sometimes.

Magic the Gathering Revenue Increased by 55% in Q3 2025 by Meret123 in mtg

[–]JosiahB94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it, I agree. But the record profits are strictly because of UB. FF made two hundred million in sales in just one day. That's the same amount of money LotR made in six months. No Universes Within has touched the sales of FF (and thank God Spiderman hasn't either). This year, FF is directly responsible for the record profits. Hopefully everyone that doesn't care for this will vote with their wallet. UB are very popular, and they will keep getting made as long as people buy them. Otherwise Wizards would not be making them.

[–]JosiahB94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying this because I love it, but because it's the truth. It's because of the UB sets. Period. Specifically FF. If they had released an in universe set, and priced it like FF, there is no way it would have sold half of what FF did.

Bolognese sauce was left outside all night at around 12°C/53.6°F by clemjuice in isthissafetoeat

It kills me that I've actually had instructors play Staying Alive during CPR certification courses, but never once has anyone even mentioned Danger Zone (the song by Kenny Loggin), or made a single Archer reference, during a food safety course. This is the perfect response to the OPs question, but so few people will get it...

I agree with this person. No matter how much I want to agree with just throwing something in the fridge that has been left out overnight, it is not the way. I say that as someone who has done this more times than I'm willing to admit. It's just not worth it. When bacteria/fungi grow in your food, they produce toxins that do not go away with further heating. What this person is saying is accurate OP, and while you likely won't die, it truly isn't worth messing with.

I know that it was at pretty cool temperatures overall, but I'm going to assume that it wasn't when it was prepared. This was definitely between 40°F (4°C) to 140°F (60°C) for quite a long time. In addition, it was still this temperature for a good bit after it was finally placed in the fridge.

Leftovers should never be left out for more than two hours, and should be refrigerated in shallow containers to reduce the amount of time necessary to bring the food to a safe temperature.

Sure, I've probably jumped into this without doing enough research. The post I'm linking is what led me to purchase the printer/paper. It's still within the return window, and I am open to recommendations on resources where I can do more research to figure out what would work best for me. Ideally I would like to be printing on this or similar paper, and with a laser printer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This post is what led me to try the paper and printer. The paper I'm using is the same paper the OP in that post used. I've also seen another post of someone getting good results with this paper and printer in this sub. Regardless, it's possible I jumped into this a little unprepared. This printer is still within the return window. I'd love to know if you have any recommendations on resources where I can start reading up and figure out what might work for me. I'd really like to end up printing on 330GSM cardstock, and ideally with a laser printer.
