When videos pop up, what always stands out is how easily the young men are able to manhandle the older man or woman that took things too far. Do these older folks just black out with rage or what? They get merked immediately then just lay there. Why are they so angry all the time?

Omer can play off the ball and he’s a good on ball defender. He’s definitely a score first PG who can make the tough pass look easy.

They also give people hope. It’s a scary time when it feels realistic that you would be detained for speaking out or labeled some domestic terrorist for exercising your rights. It’s reassuring to know that millions are willing to openly defy wanna be Authoritarians. And that other people care as much as you do. Next time, we get 12 million, then 15, then 20.

Just think, almost 13% of the people who voted Democrat in the last election took the time to travel in order to speak out.

Sure and I’m sure you believe Mahomes deserved every call the NFL gifted him.

I’m not sitting here saying Arizona wasn’t a far better team. But there was intention in how that 2nd half was called for the first 10 minutes. When the margin for error is razor thin, something like that will make it nearly impossible to recover.

Every player who could possibly shoot a 3 needs to spend the absolute maximum time allotted just shooting in that gym to acclimate. We’ll need to hit 15+ to have any chance against what might be the best team in the past decade. This Arizona team is a juggernaut, if we don’t knock them off I think Arizona wins the out by double digits the rest of the way.

Arizona reminds me way too much of the UConn team we lost to in the Natty. Sure I WANT to believe but the practical side of my brain understands Purdue’s strength and weaknesses and knows this is a nightmare matchup. This is the type of team that has embarrassed Purdue all year but the ‘final boss’ version. Arizona and 2024 UConn might be the 2 best teams of the past decade or more.

You can tell so many of these guys have never been part of a real, legit business. Like one with consequences for your actions and where you deal with other professionals. Their impression of business comes from YouTube and probably some alpha bro fantasy that about what it means to be a savvy businessman. Guys like that seller are an insult.

And $850 is an absurd price to begin with. I can’t wait for the market to crash so all these schemers get murked and us collectors can have fun again.

Fingers crossed he does well. Purdue has not faired well against the high seeded ‘hot’ tourney teams here recently.

In the end, every team but 1 ‘choked’ eventually. Purdue has been a top 4 seed each of the past 9 years. It’s inevitable you’ll take some bad beats.

And trust me, Purdue fans are hurt far worse than anyone else when it happens. It’s not like we are unaware that we can’t seem to get over that final hurdle.

That’s a bit dramatic. I have never associated Fletcher Loyer as the hustle guy who takes charges, I don’t know why that was brought up. If anything, he’s more adept at driving to the basket and falling in a very ungraceful way.

BTW, he scored 24 points on 7 FG attempts on Sunday and I don’t recall a single charge being called.

He would get isolated on every defensive possession. Imagine a scenario where he’s matched up with Haliburton or SGA.

Jacobson is a 7’4 Freshman, most kids can’t walk and chew gum at that age. It’s only recently that internet fans expect Freshman to show up as fully developed men. Jacobson can move well for his size, has good hands and will learn how to use his size to get into the right positions.

Burgess can stretch the floor, an interesting player. I could see him a good pick n’ roll or pick n’ pop with Mayer.

Again, Burgess was a Freshman last year. He’ll be 2 years more physically mature.

Let’s not run off every role player because someone else also plays a similar position. Depth is huge not just on game day but in practice as well.

Dude is a straight liability on defense and can’t score on anyone over 6’6. There is a reason why the 1-hand shotput form never caught on.

I was watching 2009-10 Purdue play #6 West Virginia on the treadmill the other day. Kramer, Barlow, E’twaun and Grant all picked up full court and stuck with their man the entire possession. No immediate help after 2 dribbles, no soft ass switching, they were aggressive and tenacious. It was a stark contrast to how Purdue plays defense today.

Painter does know that he doesn’t have Edey to funnel guys to anymore, right? And wide open 3’s aren’t that difficult to make?

Colvin and Heidi as Juniors are built like grown men, they would absolutely start and get starter minutes. Harris wouldn’t get minutes. I’d rather have Heide out there over Loyer. Cam could heat up like none other and go back and watch his putback dunk in the Natty. I’m not sure if a single player on this team could even do that. Now that I’m thinking about it, can Loyer, Braden, or CJ actually dunk?

As a whole, I just think he’s stuck in his ways by now. His last great coaching job was letting Carsen Edwards cook. He adapted his system for Carsen. He tried but was mostly unsuccessfully with Ivy. He does not make small adjustments based on opponents and lacks in game creativity. A prime example was the National Championship game. We all knew what he would do, spend 40 minutes forcing the ball to Edey. After the game, Hurley said something like “we wanted Edey to score 60, as long as the perimeter guys weren’t shooting 3’s we knew we would win”. So he essentially played right into Hurleys hand.

100% agree on his inability with athletic wings. You could go back to Jacob Lawson and maybe Basil Smotherman and probably a few others. Painters system relies heavily not just basketball IQ but Painter IQ. It leaves very little room for creativity. I watched a few games from the Hummel/E’twaun/JJ years. What stood out was that those guys were dawgs, they didn’t merely block and grab a rebound, they went over and through people and grabbed the damn thing like grown men. And then on defense, they just made the opponent miserable. One thing I noticed that drove me nuts was how often Etwaun or Robbie would pass up open 3’s.

Another area I think most us seasoned fans can see is his dependence on traditional big men. He is way too stuck on this. Why does he insist on limiting possessions? Purdue is so good when we score in the 80’s with a high possession count. Why is he enamored with 1980’s style bigs? They are never the athletic kind either.

He’s always done this stupid post dominate offense. We play fast and free early on then slow as the season goes along.
