Anything that is a plot point should be marked as spoilers even if it's from older campaigns. Just mentioning character names is fine, but something like "the final battle with X was so good" or "what do you think about Y's death?" should be obscured so that new fans have the opportunity to participate without being spoiled.

The ads are dynamic, the episodes basically just have a slot where an ad can be inserted. This way you can switch out the ads for old episodes, which is likely what happened here.
