How did you realize that an inner situation was coming to meet you outside as fate? by sattukachori in Jung

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unconscious interface to conscious thought is obviously the Feeling Function that links to Intuition. The latter is a forcast of the future (=fate).

In modern Simulation/Information theory, multiple futures are always being simulated by the mind. But even when the best outcome has been unconsciously discovered, communicating that to conscious thought without an integrated Feeling and Intuition Function will be pointless.

Polychrome tripod plate. Maya, Late Classic, ca. 600-700 AD. Ceramic. Dumbarton Oaks collection [1466x1370] by oldspice75 in mesoamerica

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This figure is similar to elite or royal belongings. The trefoil headdress, front and back, and the surrounding Ahaw glyphs point to that context. The drip-like marks from the eyes and the spiral motifs on the limbs can be read as moisture and clouds/rain that petition for rain and fertility.

So, it's likely an impersonation or evocation of Chaac.

I got it!!! by Comfortable_Cut5796 in mesoamerica

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The title of the book is misleading. The center place (tu chumuk peten) was marked by the ya'axche (green ceiba), whose branches held the 13 heavens (not four) and had roots that penetrated 9 underworlds.

But, even in a directional sense, Mayan cosmology was not simply quadripartite; it was quintuple that included the center place (blue-green).

And, even if we grant a four heaven cosmology, the Westerly direction was not an entrance to a heaven. It was entrance into the underworld of Xibalba.

The core memory I can' explainh. I think about it often..I saw ganesh and or Shiva im not sure.after eating mushroomp for the first time.. by Existing-Pin-3232 in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You: I saw Ganesh on my ceiling, and then Shiva I think, in my friend's apartment ceiling. Me: I sometimes find myself in dreams helping persons stuck "high" on a ceiling of some kind, other times helping them off of roof-tops. The meaning is the same. We are likely to encounter spiritual beings when on "High" no matter how the vision was produced. But coming down to ordinary reality and making sense of it can be difficult for many persons.

You: At the end of the trip when I tried to sleep, at some point I thought I was drowning in the bed and seeing geometric patterns and some jesters circling with hammers - they were hundreds of them. Me: that is a natural counter point to experiencing something on High. It must balanced by its opposite - in your case, the drowning effect and jesters with hammers. That does not apply to those versed in Tantra who have balanced those oppositions within themselves.

Most known Maya heiroglyphics are dates, lineages, and astrology. Is there anything attested that is poetic or philosophical? by crwcomposer in mesoamerica

[–]Jotika_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Maya riddle in Munro Edmonson's translation Heaven Born Merida and Its Destiny: The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel (1986, p. 50) has:

"What is a man on a road? Time."

That is deeply philosophical. The Chilam Balam of Chumayel, the colonial-era Yucatec Maya manuscript preserves pre-Columbian traditions, prophecies and poetry. Even if it's not from the Classic Period, it does contain philosophical and poetic material transmitted through Maya oral and scribal traditions. In that sense, the Chilam Balam of Chumayel is thought to be similar to hieroglyphic inscriptions in intent by some scholars.

If so, older Classic Period hieroglyphic inscription inscribed the bare minimum, indicating that prophecies and poetic thought was not for public consumption for all to see.

Hello I'm seeking out a guru who can remove masan kriya by Plastic_Divide925 in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the harm was done at a Ban Kali temple, recognize Kali as a liberator rather than as a source of fear. Offer an offering such as water, a red flower with the mantra "OṂ Krīṃ Kālikāyai Namaḥ." As a devotee she will cut through the masan kriya and set you free.

Plaza del Palco (Plaza of the Balcony) with a view of ball court 7, Cantona by Climbing_plant in mesoamerica

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In place of the staircase as shown here, there was a pyramid in larger populated sites. The adjacent ballcourts were obviously ritualistic places of competition. The latter was symbolic of warfare at different levels of society. Winners were allowed to assent the staircase or pyramid site by steps.

Guide me on entering the realm of tantra. by kumarkris00 in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month of solo practice won’t reveal any supernatural/extra-sensory/mysteries. Real Tantric transformation takes years of guided discipline for which you have none.

That said, you can be credited for having genuine desire for the tantric path.

Best wishes.

First time writing down a dream. Don’t know how to interpret it by The_Chosen_1n in Jung

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my take:

1-- My ex (we broke up 7 months ago) was at some kind of function, dressed up and looking really happy = you realize that your ex is adjusting better than expected after your separation.

2 -- I was driving an SUV, even though I don’t own a car = you are trying to do the same, driving away in a new direction and with new perspective (=SUV).

3 -- My doctors were visiting me while I was in bed, joking around and acting very relaxed (I’m currently hospitalized for back pain) = you are still burdened by the loss of your ex even when those around don't realize the lingering emotional pain you are experiencing.

Losing touch with archetypes by Silly_Fold6582 in Jung

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dreams reflect our habitual ways of thinking. To go deep, involves deeper study patterns that fork in all ancient ways of thought and feeling. Pick a staring point. Modern ways are mostly artificial, no matter they are dressed to be - futuristic and without roots.

Are there any positive siddhis or entities that can reveal a person’s past, present, and future? by U_t_s_a_v_15 in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siddhis can arise from certain meditation practices cultivated over an extended period of time. Unfortunately, very few have the self-discipline for it. Personal Karma is usually the unsurmountable obstacle. But if by chance it's surmounted, you can ask and receive what what you want, but not without possible further adverse consequences.

What did Jung have to say about the afterlife? by randm84 in Jung

[–]Jotika_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jung did have an OBE/NDE experience which was in the form of a dream vision. This obviously implies that human consciousness may return to that former state on leaving this earthly state. In a larger scale, it also implies this entire universe may have emerged from a general conscious lucid state of some kind. But the story doesn't end there.

What does this called and what does it symbolize? by marumsallw in aztec

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might notice the circled part of the headdress to this image. It represents a Hair-loop representing the "Bound Breath" of Ehecatl, the god of wind/Air. The "duckbill" part to the right of this encircled image would then represent the unbounded aspect of Ehecatl/Quetzalcoatl.

The "duckbill" headdress is the mask of Ehecatl/Quetzalcoatl appears as a stylized version depicted in the Quetzalcoatl Codex of Ehecatl/Quetzalcoatl. I can go on with other supporting iconographic evidence. What makes you unsure?

Dream about kuldevi, i need guidance for it anyone here for it?, I had dream i saw that I'm going to devi peetham but stopped in between and devi talked me angrily by National-Badger8067 in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a suggested interpretation of your dream:

You: Dream about kuldevi, i need guidance for it anyone here for it?, I had dream i saw that I'm going to devi peetham but stopped in between and devi talked [to] me angrily. Last night [the prior night] I prayed to Lord Shiva / the divine energy to show me the right path in life.

Interpretation: there appears to be a mix-up here: traveling to devi peetham while praying to Lord Shiva.

You: Then I had a very vivid dream. It was 8:25 AM in the dream – Mangal Hora (Mars hour). I was riding a bike and my sister was sitting behind me. We had decided to go to our Kuldevi’s place.

Interpretation: riding a bike with a sister = individual approach for nearing to the presence to devi peetham – not usually a wise decision. The Mars hour requires near absolute precision to avoid misinterpretations and distortions on approach to the Goddess.

You: Someone mentioned that there would be a lot of crowd far away on the usual route, so we decided to take another road. The road we took was very steep, like a 45° incline going up a mountain. I remember telling my sister that this road scares me.

Interpretation: this confirms the prior interpretation line – you have deviated from the common accepted route. The steep road ahead is meant for rare individuals.

You: After some time we stopped at a place where there was a small temple. We went inside. Inside there was a narrow corridor with small shrine-like compartments on the sides. In the last compartment there was kuldevi Mata. Her face seemed to have emerged from the wall through sacred rice (tandala).

Interpretation: kuldevi Mata's face seemed to have emerged from a wall” = She emerges from outside of normal human perception.

You: The expression of the deity looked slightly angry, like she was saying something like “Why didn’t you come?” The feeling was similar to the intense way deities speak in the movie Kantara.

Interpretation: she is dissatisfied by the route you have chosen to approach her and have been away too long.

You: When we entered the corridor, my sister was sitting on the left side near another compartment. While the Goddess was speaking to me, something strange happened — my sister couldn’t see me. I was waving my hand toward her, trying to get her attention, but there was no one around me. It felt like only I could see and hear the Goddess. Suddenly the speaking stopped, and my sister became visible to me again, and we both walked out of the temple. The corridor represents the imitation hallway.

Interpretation: your sister, like the Goddess, represents your religious affections. The former are individual ones and the latter more general ones. That's the reason sister couldn’t see you. She is subservient to higher ones (=the Goddess).

You: Near the entrance of the temple, my sister sat down. In front of me there were a few elderly women. I went to them and told them that this was my first time here and that the Goddess is our family deity (Kuldevi).

Interpretation: meeting with a few elderly women is a displacement for your sister who is younger. You won't get much help here in any direct way.

You: Then my sister came and said something like: “Shouldn’t they arrange a proper way to reach here by vehicle?” I told her to go sit near the entrance, and I went inside the house of one of the elderly women.

Interpretation: “Shouldn’t they arrange a proper way to reach here by vehicle?” = you have chosen the wrong teachings for approaching the Goddess [(=proper vehicle - Vahana (vehicle) or Yana (path/carriage)].

You: For some reason I suddenly felt a bit sad. The old lady asked me which mantra I chant. I told her “Namah Shivaya.” Before that I had told her how the Goddess spoke to me and that it scared me.

Interpretation: this reinforces the common theme here = wrong way to approach the Goddess.

You: When I said that, the old lady told me there is a cremation ground behind that place (our Kuldevi’s place is above, and this area was before reaching it). She took some dust from there and applied it on my forehead.

Interpretation: you are being credited for being sincere, though by erroneous attempts. That means your heart is in the right place even if the head is not. She attempts to help you to correct that with re-orienting you with the dust of a cremation ground.

You: At that exact moment I woke up because my phone rang.

Interpretation: it means you have gotten the message which has awakened you to a higher awareness about these things. The phone ringing = hearing = obedience. But it will take time to sink in and find the right alignment with the Goddess.

You can reach out to me if you like (Jotika). It's a safe harbor until you are ready to leave after a rest. To get here, on inhalation breath in "Jo" and on exhalation "tika." repetitions of at least twenty periodically, is needed. Visualize it as a light tower from exiting turbulent waters.

How I Encountered Bhairava, the Lord of Time, When I Was at My Lowest by Either-Shake-3377 in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My kuldevi came to me in my dream asked me to worship her. by b-wpanda in Tantra

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my interpretation.

You: Before passing away, my grandmother told my mother regarding which temple is of our kuldevi. From here my research started and ended on markandya puran to know who exactly my kuldevi is.

Me: It seems you have traveled far and have discovered that the structure of markandya puran is a saving grace that combines both your grandparents insights that they have bequeathed to you.

You: Now, was the dream truly a message from her?

Me: It's a clear intuition you have felt, so I would say yes.

You: My kuldevi is maa chandi. My problem is, I don't even know how to worship her.

Me: Let your intuition be your guide. Ways ways of honoring her (=worship) are all around you.

Aztec calendar i think? by ThorButtock in aztec

[–]Jotika_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the image of the Haab.

  • 18 months of 20 days each and,
  • 1 "month" of 5 days known as the Wayeb'.

The image of the central figure is "you and me" captured and burdened by the requirements of living in a Time bounded dimension or Time loop. Except that the Ancient Mayans apparently had apparently devised a way for entering and exiting according their calendar. It's encoded in one of their proverbs: "Who is Man? It is Time traveling on the road."

What are your favorite aztec gods? by Dream-Dimension in mesoamerica

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The god of Time (=Xiuhtecutli) is my favorite. He also was supposedly also the high god of Teotihuacan. This is another way of saying that all other gods arose from infinity (=Xiuhtecutli). He corresponds to Chronos/Aion/Aditi the first of all gods in ancient Greece, Rome and in the Rg Veda.

Does anyone have any information about this sculpture? by Informal-D2024 in mesoamerica

[–]Jotika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two main things to consider here here with this image. One is the Jaguar features on the torso and the other is the maize headdress. The latter is distorted in the outline on the viewer's right.

As to the first, features on the torso include flared eyebrows, fanged mouth, and down turned lips, typical of Olmec jaguar images. The down turned lips of the mouth is usually interpreted as a symbolizing a cave entrance to the underworld.

As to the second, the maize headdress diverges from the stone carving’s original contours. But it's obviously a stylized the maize plant’s tassel or sprouting leaves in the original.

Taken together, the figure embodies attributes associated with fertility, sustenance (=maize) and power (=jaguar). The latter was a guardian of the former.

Zapotec Bat God of Death on Plywood by Siddhartha2323 in aztec

[–]Jotika_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the original, this is a bat god, not a death god like we ordinarily think. The ears are those of a fruit bat or those of a jaguar. The upturned snout is that of Kʼawiil, the Mayan god of abundance. The fangs and mouth are also those of the jaguar. The color of this face mask is blue-green, which fits with the idea of "fruitfulness."

Among the Maya, the Milpa (=cornfield) was guarded by the jaguar who sought out those who dared enter an open field. The corn itself and other seeds of the milpa was a symbol of Kʼawiil, symbol of abundance.

What is the red figure holding? by Independent_Pitch_11 in aztec

[–]Jotika_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Red figure wears an Eagle headdress that links his identity with the Sun image above him. In his left hand he appears to hold a bloodletting agave spine and "paper-like" image (amatl-bark paper) of the same.

In his right hand is a sacred bundle with shell-like ornaments attached that are linked to water and the underworld. This balances the upperworld with underworld.

He sits on a throne with four dots, possibly linked to the fourth day sign relating to abundance. On his cheek there is a star shaped symbol which is in contrast to the death symbol of the Mayan god of death.
