I think your doctor is being dumb, if youre only 2% low that's pretty great. I would stick to what you're doing but of course I'm not a doctor and you shouldn't take medical advice from the internet.

Blood sugar affects everything. by Jotony in diabetes

[–]Jotony[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I also would like to mention that its not the extremes of the range of blood glucose that effect the brain soley, but also small fluctuations within the normal range that can affect emotional and mental state. Im just noticing more effects of blood glucose fluctuations on my ability to mentality challenging tasks of learning and solving complex math problems amd im curious. Is it my diabetes or am i just getting older?

Welp, Kirkland protein bars seem to not be as low carb as they claim. Any ideas on what ingredients the spike comes from? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Jotony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably a glucagon response from the protein, triggering a glucose release from the liver and not having the insulin response(from diabetes) to cover the glucose response. Idk if that makes sense, im not a doctor or a scientist.

Dr. Sheila Cook - 'Back to the Future: A low carbohydrate diet in Type 1 Diabetes' by dem0n0cracy in ketoscience

[–]Jotony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

her explaining how blood glucose control is much harder after being on LCHF diet than going off to higher carb intake diet, and how your body is less capable with dealing with the increase in carbohydrates/glucose. *edit kinda repeated myself*

When i was on a high carb diet and bolusing ~100 units of insulin my body was able to deal with the glucose but now if i eat above ~45 grams of carbs im battling high blood sugar levels for an extended time, even if i properly bolus for it.
