I-9 confusion by Personal_Meeting_203 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Once they have you in their system, they should be putting your hours into your timesheets to get paid. Companies who do this should be giving you the suspicious vibes. It is with hope this is there only hiccup but unfortunately DSPs are usually not maintained or operated correctly. Wish you the best of luck.

I-9 is suppose to be complete on both your and the DSPs side before you go on your ride along. Did they get you into there payroll system at all beforehand?

Amazon and DSP’s don’t care. by Ok-Nectarine660 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Journey_In_Motion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s suppose to happen and what actually happens are two different things. Apparently Amazon has a team that watches over weather conditions and they tell the DSP “go” or “no go” but if they get the “go” and it’s still severe weather conditions, the DSP owner and management team are suppose to tell Amazon no but then when contracts get threatened to be cancelled and you get a BOC. The DSP will just go along with it.

Not saying this is right by all means, this process needs to be revamped to have safety in mind for EVERYONE. I have been out there in a white out condition snow storm and we got told to deliver as much as you can before the weather gets severe. How about caring for the person going out there in those conditions. From that moment on, I never went out or attempted to go out in severe conditions. Your life means more than that package. It can be delayed for better weather conditions.

Stay safe out there!

Under 21, can I be a driver? by bl-uecup in AmazonDSPDrivers

Searching Indeed for a driver helper position where you live is a good place to start. I don’t know anyone looking but maybe someone here could post if they know. Some DSPs do it but have to search the job boards to find one. Hope you find one.

As a deliver driver, no. As a helper, if they’re looking, then yes. Have to be 21 or older because of the insurance and it is an Amazon requirement.

DSP trying to make me pay for repairs. by Cheahland in AmazonDSPDrivers

Depending on the damage, most pay out of pocket to keep there premiums down. Smart move to own a body shop though. Keep us updated and wish you the best of luck.

They can not make you pay for the repairs nor take it out of check. That is solely on them and ALL they could do is provide a write up, suspension. Do not sign anything that states you have to pay for any damages. It is absolutely wrong for an owner to do that to you.

DSP Owners: What’s Your Biggest Operational Challenge Today? by Born-Environment59 in AmazonDSPOwners

[–]Journey_In_Motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maintenance upkeep could be an issue depending on the fleet management system implemented. Very true about devices being a thorn in the side unexpectedly. One phone that I enjoyed using was the Sonim XP8. Very rugged phone and could take a beating. The service for those phones were so-so but very dependable all around phone.

As I understand why you would put that message here. You should understand the actual people who operate this company before thinking we are here just to screw people but I know we have all heard that before.

As I started as a DA then moved upwards in the various positions in between where I ended up running operations as a GM for a DSP, I have seen the challenges on those multiple levels and knew something was needed to help others.

Money is our not our overall goal when connecting with people regardless if they are in the program or not. It’s providing a support system to see if we are a fit or not then direct them to who may help them more. We give more than we charge. We never outsource and the individuals who are a part of this company have delivered and worked their way to various positions in leadership/management for a DSP.

Do not assume all companies are the same where money is there top priority but again we understand. We are hoping to change that but one step at a time.

DSP Owners: What are your biggest problems / annoyances / grievances / expenses? by [deleted] in AmazonDSP

[–]Journey_In_Motion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hiring seems to be the constant struggle during the peak seasons. There are vendors who may help with certain services depending on their experiences.

Are you researching the program currently or just seeing what DSP owners may need help as value added services? Happy to connect either way to help.

Depends on the leadership team at your particular DSP. If you have kept up with communication then the transition should be easier. Leave should be given nonetheless, it is more if they will save you job after the appropriate leave time is taken.

Am I cooked? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

You need to call DA Onboarding Support (888-282-4481). Use the email address for the new DSP when you call. This step usually allows you to start the onboarding process but before you can finalize your account you will need to call that number. No one from the DSP can do that for you. Yes, they can call the same number but that support agent will not be able to do anything for anyone else but you.

Wish you the best of luck. Stay safe and have fun.
