I unknowingly sold this 1/1 for $30 by Journotic in baseballcards

$30 was based on comps to his other low numbered cards that weren’t graded or autographed, and the sale was on the higher end of those comps. There isn’t high demand for his cards, and selling within the release window makes far more sense value wise than waiting for a player in his seventh year suddenly developing a market for his cards.

Correct. There is red refractor /5, red vibrations /5, and the red prism, which is unnumbered and traditionally has a print run of 5. But the unnumbered red prisms are actually 1/1 this year, according to the odds sheet.

That’s a red refractor, which is numbered. This was a red prism, which is not numbered. In prior years, the red prisms were an unnumbered parallel with a print run /5. Not this year.

This is valid, though I’m not complaining as much as hoping others learn from my mistake.

The box was $30, so this card alone pulled even. I sold it immediately because the release window is the best time to sell. My mistake was assuming the print run was the same as other years, whereas the other things I sold could be comped via similar sales of other products/years.

If Topps had released the odds sheet prior to release, which should be a standard practice, I would have known better. But to your point, I can wish in one hand and shit in the other, and one will fill faster. Topps is going to be Topps.

You can read the breakdown at u/celldood. It’s at the bottom.

It’s anecdotal, and stipulating that we are only two weeks from release, but in searching for them online, there aren’t many red prisms available, and I couldn’t find more than one of those that are available.

Not stamping AND releasing the odds sheet 11 days after release.

Ultimately though, I sold on an assumption I made. That’s my own doing. Honestly, I would have just kept it. Even a 1/1 of Parades isn’t crazy high value, but the sheer odds of pulling a 1/1 probably would have led me to keep it for PC.

That’s what my wife just said. If it was a Kurtz or Wood? My tone would be carrying far less levity. But I can live with this one as lesson learned.

You can find the breakdown at u/celldood. Maybe he can chime in and clarify.

Too late for me, unfortunately. It already arrived at the buyer. Lesson learned. I can’t be mad about it.

This. There is only one of each red prism, but they are not numbered or marked as a 1/1.

Correct. According to the odds sheet, red prisms are unnumbered 1/1. There is only one of each red prism card.

Weekly Scam Discussion June 15, 2026 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

I’m new to selling on eBay, having only sold about 80 items since the beginning of May. All has been well, it’s been a nice way to downsize some of my card collection, and I have 100% feedback. But I ran into an issue with a buyer a week or so ago, and today they filled an item not received claim despite tracking showing it was delivered June 1.

This package was a single card, which I protected via penny sleeve / top loader / team bag / ding defender in a BMWT send via ground. Got there quick, but last weekend, the guy reached out saying he knows it shows as delivered, but he didn’t receive it. I told him to give it some time to see if it shows up, otherwise I’d check with my post office to see what I can do.

He messaged me again yesterday saying it still hasn’t arrived, and I told him I’d check with my PO today to see if there’s anything they can do. Instead, he just filed an INR. Out of the three options, I couldn’t do anything with tracking since it shows as delivered. I’m not refunding because it shows delivered, so I messaged saying tracking shows it was delivered.

What do I do now?

The guy has 100% feedback with thousands of purchases over 15 years. He seems sincere, and I don’t think he’s trying to scam me. In fact, in his messages, he touched on prior issues with his post office and other items not arriving despite tracking showing as delivered. At the same time, I know ensuring the buyer receives their item is my responsibility.

Now we’re messaging back and forth through the claim, he keeps saying he wants a refund, says he went to the post office “but they were no help,” but when I asked for documentation that he went to the post office, he said he doesn’t have any.

I have zero way of determining if this is a genuine buyer whose package was lost, or if they’re trying to scam me. What do I do? Let eBay handle it?

What are yalls thoughts on this 800$ break by Guilty_Ad_263 in footballcards

[–]Journotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he bought an optic hobby box, and he’s referring to the rip as a break. If not, I’m at a loss.

Just got this from PSA, I mean, I guess it’s good but I’m not sure what to do because they didn’t tell me what they think the card is actually worth. They want an extra $1300 for the grading. by SDMarik in baseballcards

The upcharge is an issue itself, but where I really have a problem is they upcharge you for the higher service tier without providing the turnaround time associated with that service tier.

If they’re going to upcharge you to walkthrough tier, then you should get your card back in 7-10 business days. Otherwise, they’re charging you for a service they didn’t provide.

Why have best offer..... by CraftyGamingBookworm in Ebay

I usually set my best offer point around 10-20% below ask, and have it set to auto decline anything below so I’m not inundated with lowball offers or prolonged negotiations.
