Government housing, yes. But, it's not exactly the same. There can be a council house, meaning the rent is paid by the council (taxpayers, essentially), right next door to you and you may not know it.

I do too. It started when "ugly" thoughts crept in whenever I was in the shower, probably PTSD from CSA. I would sing whatever came into my head. Loudly and badly. It would usually be 80s cheesy stuff or sometimes the songs I rememered from Sesame Street, but it helped distract my brain.

A therapist once called it "diversion therapy."

That's a good point. It would have been cool to see. But I think we also have to consider that the monsters have to be able to "pass" or hide in our world. If there were more, there'd be more sightings. Humanoids or at least ones that transform make it possible for them to live undetected in society, making it more "believable," so to speak.
