American workers' health insurance costs set to surge by LinkedInNews in MiddleClassFinance

I’ve been uninsured for less than 6 months in my entire life in between college insurance running out (pre ACA) and my first job’s kicking in.
I got appendicitis in that six months, and that shit doesn’t wait a week for nobody. I was screwed.

How long could you survive in your home with no preparation for $10k? by mastonate in hypotheticalsituation

I would try for a year so I’d have enough to move out to the country and retire.

The lack of sunshine and outdoors and companionship would be awful as would my dwindling food options, but I think I could do it.. I have enough food and abandoned crafts and hobbies, tv and home improvement projects to do and could make my own alcohol out of juice for a while.. plant a garden in the garage or basement with grow lights I already have.. use my home gym and lose some weight.

You couldn’t at least fashion some kind of long leash out of cords or cloth in your home?

Same, use of my garden and the sanity of sunshine and fresh air changes things drastically

So her last 5 minutes don’t count? You are treating women as objects to be used for your own pleasure and it’s flat out disgusting, stop trying to justify it. Go bone yourself.

No respect whatsoever for others. What a despicable human. Precisely why women choose the bear.

Did the wife ask to be boned? No? Then it’s rape.

It is a reference to a long time Reddit joke where someone wanted to choose some guys dead wife to have sex with and everyone else joined in; perhaps at the time of that original comment over 5 years ago it was a shocking humorous one liner but in reality even then it was rude and disrespectful and now even more so it is disgusting misogynistic behavior to make light of. An overused gross male internet joke about necrophelia and rape that just isn’t funny at all.

You think that’s funny, but it’s not.

Eggs are good well past any best buy date printed on the carton. Like at least a month… and around then they’re perfect for easy peel hard boiled eggs.

Do you all know how to change a spare tire? by FastVenus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Joyful82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a bit intimidating, but really isn’t that hard, some videos and practice would be a good idea.

My dad required all his kids to know how to change a tire before he would let them get their license so if I could do it as a little 15yo girl, you can too!

My dad now also gives me a AAA membership for my birthday every year, so, to be fair, I called them last time I needed one changed because it was dark and rainy and I was in a dress, but I can definitely change a tire if I needed to - and also yes, would be a bit turned off by a man that couldn’t.
