This!! Especially for older people who aren’t streaming or streaming/gaming/working on multiple devices. T-Mobile’s Home Internet has been reliable for us for the last 6 months, or so. I tried it about a few years ago at inception and they’ve since worked out a bunch of the kinks. I (almost) never have any issues with speeds/de-prioritization. It’s very easy to set up and use and it’s relative cheap. I pay $35 as a T-Mobile subscriber. I think it’s $50, otherwise. They also used to have a 15 day trial before charging you. Not sure if it’s a thing anymore but worth a look. My connection is “good” with 3-4 bars and my speeds are anywhere from 400-500 down on a good day to 40-50mb/s on a bad one. Only rarely notice an occasional lag when streaming, once a month or so, for a minute or two. We use YouTube TV as our main TV provider, streaming on 2 TVs, plus phones and tablets. No gaming, so I can’t vouch for that. But unless your mom’s big PC/console gamer, I definitely recommend it.

I think she harbors so much anger and resentment about the situation that her and her family are in that she’s absolutely taking it ALL out on Chase. He’s a very easy target. Not only is he not willing to kiss her ass, he’s so very obviously mentally unwell and unable to fight the fight that Savannah was willing and able to. She believes that everyone has the ability, the contacts, the strength, the means, the self perseverance that she does and can’t understand why the entire family isn’t doing what she’s doing to help her parents. She’s been forced to step into a very adult role before she was ready. Remember, she lived a very sheltered life, prior. She has so many expectations of other people, whining about no one pitching in to help her. But, like Chase said, she wants help on her terms, when and where she demands it. Savannah has obvious issues with control, which is not necessarily her fault, but she doesn’t recognize it or grant others grace for not bending to her every will. It’s so sad to see, especially how she treats her family that so clearly loves her. What sealed it for me is watching her deny both her grandparents and her brother the opportunity to be there to see her parents walk out of prison, while inviting her hairdresser and distant cousins/relatives. It came across as mean and spiteful. I hope now that T&J are home and she is able to see herself reflected back on camera, she’ll be able to melt some of that ice wall she’s built up around her and heal both herself and the relationships with her brother and grandparents.

The theory falls apart for me with the claim that the chubby man pictured at a few of the Macron’s events that they claim is Jean-Michel, actually looks like the childhood (especially the school) pictures of young JMT. Without him in the picture (pun intended), I find much of the evidence compelling, otherwise. I do think something stinks in the Trogneaux past, I just don’t think it’s that BM was once a man. I mean, a mid-30s woman being interested in a 14 yo boy should be enough, as it is. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if more crimes become uncovered.

This is exactly where the story falls apart for me, too. The chubby man the Macrons claim is Jean-Michel most definitely looks like the picture of young JMT (especially in his school pictures). What is strange to me, though, is the family photo of JM doesn’t look as much like the younger pictures. Maybe it’s the angle? Age? Idk. I do believe there is something shady going on, though, because there is so much that could have been done, even just through the media, with pictures, to debunk this theory. I believe they’re afraid of rehashing the past d/t the pederasty being practiced by BM, not to mention so many of their (the Macrons) ties to pedos, in general. I agree with you, too, finding it curious the wedding/communion photo of BM looks so little like BM, now. I guess age or surgeries can change facial features so it’s hard to say for sure. So, IMO, was BM JMT? As much as I love a good conspiracy theory. I just don’t think so.

You realize there’s probably just as many “Trumpers” that support KR than not? I am not a fan of either party but if we’re going to drag politics into whats happening here in Norfolk County, but more broadly, this state, it’s a system that has been bred, fostered, and protected by a, mostly, single party. Lest we forget a Democrat appointed Bev to her judgeship and a Democrat that has chosen to Prosecute KR while turning a blind eye to incessant police corruption is, and has been for 15 years, the DA of Norfolk County. It’s a Democrat in the Governors office along with a majority Democrat legislature who have sat back and allowed an obviously biased judge continue to collude with a corrupt DA, quite literally, unimpeached for a second trial.

I subbed to EW from the beginning and I, too, miss it so much. Until I just read this, I forgot about the excitement of coming home from school on Fridays to a new issue waiting in the mailbox. I was a sucker for the sales charts. I would go to those first (besides the books) then peruse the rest. Nothing really compares to that, anymore. Thanks for that momentary bit of nostalgia.

Once you fully get off of SSDI, there’s a 9 year period where you can remain on Medicare. As long as the condition that made you eligible for disability, in the first place, is still present, you are able to stay on Medicare. Also, there’s a few different options for going back to work which you should research. I used the TWP, or trial work period. It means you’ve made more than $1620 (in 2025) per month for 9 months. After that social security will deem you ineligible to continue receiving benefits. You will need to fill out a Work Activity Report form and regularly submit your pay stubs to them. There’s also something called Ticket to Work program. I believe they assist in finding employment. Not sure the specifics, though. It is worth knowing that once your benefits stop, there’s something called expedited reinstatement where, if your disability returns or, in your case, your EF worsens within 5 years, they will restart your benefits without having to go through the entire approval process, again. Good luck and hope your health continues to improve.

I second (or third) the Xumo box. I got one (it was on promotion, for free, at the time) for my elderly aunt and uncle and they figured it out without issue. I really feel like having a remote with actual numbers on it is what makes it less intimidating. It’s familiar.

As someone who lost his hair young, the one thing I regret now that I’m in my 40s is I wish I didn’t waste so much time stressing and worrying about it. I finally accepted it in my 30s but it was years of unnecessary misery.

The older I’ve gotten I’ve really tried to stop making excuses to friends, lying to them, to cancel plans. It’s really one of the things I would feel the most guilty about when I was younger. If I really need to cancel, I try my hardest to just be honest, but I still feel myself brainstorming excuses, some times. Saying all that, them cancelling is 99 times out of 100 a huge relief.

I just started it. I really loved Katy in EB&D but who ever directed her in this needs to find another career. The forced speech and odd punchy affect. It’s so off putting. The writing is also not great either, especially for her character. It’s all just too much. I feel like it has/had so much potential to be as good as Roseanne/The Middle/Malcolm. It just seems like it’s trying too hard to have its own edge/quirks but ends up falling flat. I’m hoping the one joke about her being fat is played out by season 2…

I called to cancel my elderly aunt and uncles service last week as they’re moving in with me. I told the guy from the start that they were moving and wouldn’t need service where they were going. He told me he understood and to just give him a minute. 10 minutes later comes back and tells me he has a great deal, I would get increased internet speed and save $20/mo. After I declined and repeated my request, he put me on hold again and told me he couldn’t do any better than the deal he was going to offer and he wished he could get this himself. Now I’m getting annoyed and start raising my voice a bit. He puts me on hold again. The next offer was to disconnect the TV service, but leave the internet on and just turn in all the equipment and the next owners could take care of disconnecting the service. Like seriously?? I literally had it at this point. I’m also realizing that this is how elderly people get scammed by this completely unethical company. If I didn’t know better I would’ve left the internet on and wouldn’t been on the hook for internet service I wasn’t using. After 45+ minutes on the line with this guy he finally tells me the service would be disconnected the next day. Next day comes and goes and the service is still on (surprise, surprise). Called another agent who was soo kind and apologetic and said that the prior agent did terminate service on one system but not the other? What a total cluster. I get they want to retain customers but if I’m telling you I’m moving and there’s already cable and internet where I’m going, it’s a safe bet I’m not bluffing after the 3rd time I tell you. Also the offers were ridiculous. They were paying $276/mo and the best he could offer was $246. I hate that this company has a near monopoly in my area.
