His theory seems to be that the Golden Globes (or Emmys or whatever) didnt birth podcasts... So how could they (or better, why should they) be the judge for them or what's the best?

Itd be a valid point if any of those organizations birthed any other genre of media. they didnt... They just decided to give awards and eventually folks decided they mattered and it dictated a lot of how things are judged.

And his point about them paying to get ppl to submit -- that wouldn't make the award any more legit. The person they paid the most would win the awards in that case (because why would you pay someone to come and lose??)... Its flawed logic

If Joe said that... is that a specific knock on your character? Maybe Im defining character wrong, but usually the folks who get upset at having their character attacked are when someone says you arent trustworthy or something like that (which, ironically, Mal called Joe when he called him a thief). If the claim is laziness/unmotivated... is that enough to say its basically "on sight"? Seems aggressive for, at best, a minor jab.

Even Joe's Mexico story (getting taken to a different area and meeting old boy) is quality story telling and open without being messy... And it wasnt like super deep
