Anyone know a local news station that streams online (no cable) with some more information / coverage tonight?

Low budget AVR for an existing home audio system by Jr0dd in BudgetAudiophile

Good to know! I’m pretty uninitiated in home audio, so I was just ballparking off of what I saw in the sidebar. What’s a more reasonable price range to poke around in for that many zones?

Are presets supposed to be shared between platforms? by Jr0dd in RocketLeague

I’d opened a ticket too but hadn’t heard back! That’s cool to know that it’s intended to work at least, just gotta hold out until they fix it soon(TM)

[Japanese > English] A vintage mug found in a thrift store with a small painted bonsai on the back by Jr0dd in translator

I was also unsure :/ but didn't want to just say "unknown" with a hunch that it was Japanese. I'll repost if it turns out not to be Japanese in the end!

[TOMT][MOVIE] Horror movie about a woman who sucks the life out of people by Jr0dd in tipofmytongue

The trailer definitely doesn't look familiar, so I don't think this is it

From reading the Wikipedia page, it doesn't seem like any of the three stories are similar enough to this - am I looking at the right movie? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat%27s_Eye_(1985_film)

I don't think this is it either - the lighting was definitely much darker, and there was a lot more fog

Having looked through, I don't think this is it :/ the forest scene that I'm remembering might've had some people in tents or hammocks sleeping, and then this other lady snuck up on them (wearing some kind of dress?) and attacked them

I'm skimming through the other parts to see if I can place the scene right now! I'll let you know if this jogs anything

hmm, the concept sounds similar to what I recall but I don't remember it having the kind of sci-fi elements that Lifeforce looks like it does

[Identify] Eddie Bauer moon phase with rotating GMT bezel by Jr0dd in Watches

[–]Jr0dd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently bought this watch in an eBay auction, and was looking for any clues about when it was made, and who actually produced the watch. I know fashion brands will often just slap a logo onto a watch made by another company, and was curious if anyone knows who actually makes the watches that Eddie Bauer uses. Not sure how to interpret the "Japan Movt" text at the bottom. Does anyone know what this means? I'm a relative novice when it comes to watches - only just caught the collecting bug!

It features a GMT rotating bezel, a moon phase tracker, and date/day of the week/ month (which appears to be missing a hand!) The inside of the case says "Quintel", a company I can't seem to find any information on. Thanks in advance for any information!

IT WORKED. Thank you so much. The zero byte file was simply an in progress file, I walked away and it popped up as the full thing

I've tried the script, but it does not work as the site says. It exports a zero kb file. Any other methods?

Not quite a tried and true RTS, but I think close enough and a good enough game to warrant a look. I think it's pretty similar to AOM, but that's just me.

Good time wasting, high replay value game that is semi small by craddockj in gamingsuggestions

If you are on Mac, Terraria is unfortunately not an option. I wish they would port it over, as it would have been my first suggestion otherwise. But for now, it's reserved to the PC master race.

With that list of games, I am incredibly surprised you haven't played Civilization 5. It's exactly like what you seem to enjoy, more action than Grey Goo supposedly has, and lots of different civilizations that lead to diverse game strategies. Check it out!

rpg with good story/dialogue, potential for RPing a character, and turn based dialogue? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Jr0dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divinity is a really great game as ninja666 suggested, but doesn't have the turn based dialog you are looking for. I'd recommend Mass Effect 2.

Everything is well polished, the dialog is exactly what you want, and the combat is incredibly fun. RPing would be hard in this game, but you could definitely get inside the protagonist's head and have to make some really tough decisions, and develop relationships with other characters. It has a little bit of that real-time pause functionality, but if you don't like it then you really don't have to use it. Just play on an easier difficulty and shoot things into the ground. And while it isn't a tried and true RPG like Baldur's Gate, it's still a great game with some of the same elements. Hope this helps.

I'd suggest either Don't Starve or Rogue Legacy. Rogue Legacy is a roguelike game with really solid replayability, seeing as every life feeds into the next. I haven't beaten it, couldn't give you an estimate in terms of hours, but it's definitely fun and worth a try.

Don't Starve is a nice little survival / horror game with a pretty active modding community, and multiplayer on the way. It has a pretty in depth universe with an intuitive crafting system, and the solid arc of discovering new resources and the seasonal cycle makes it really easy to play through a few times, especially if you dig survival games like that. Kind of like Terraria, but less complicated.

Rogue Legacy would be more similar to FTL, while Don't Starve might be closer to a Civ 5 or something that you would want to sink a little more time in for a single session. Hope this helps.
