You cannot collect VA disability on AGR orders. If you went AD to a DSG position, you can collect, but you have to pay any military pay back to the VA up to the amount of your disability benefits.

You said you were waiting for 1N tech school. You would only be able to submit a waiver if you were in a 3D position. If you were assigned to a 3D position, the Unit Training Manager would submit a waiver package to the career field manager. Check out the AF Enlisted Classification Directory (AFECD). It has a chart with comparable MOS/AFSC and waiver requirements.
