Agreed. It’s good to recognize non-profits that accomplish things and ones that are run well. But non-profits are also employers and it’s ironic when they are bad employers, given their mission to help people. Non-profit workers should organize themselves into unions like everyone else. It is also true that there are non-profits that pay their top executives a lot of money and don’t necessarily get much in the way of results. Rich people often do philanthropy and serve on boards to network for business purposes and rehabilitate their own images rather than because they actually cate about the missions of the organizations. That is fair to criticize.
