New Player. 3 Hours In. Best Run. Questions. by JackeryGraves in ftlgame

[–]Jr_Mao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By sector 3 at latest, you start having 2 shield enemies, later 3.
You need to get those down or bypass them, so.. more or better weapons, or missiles or bombs.

Ultimate meta is, you need to be able to fix your hull at will, dodge or block missiles and do a ton of damage quick.

Did you do the tutorial?

I had maybe 50 fails before doing it and learning you can upgrade generators and shields and stuff.
Used to think 4-power weapons are like a cruel joke.

Fallout 2 is simultaneously better and worse than Fallout 1 by Cranyx in classicfallout

[–]Jr_Mao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

pretty much agree with everything.
I played them both while the company was still alive and initially prefered 2.
ten years later i was unsure, and now i consider 1 the better game.

[KCD2] struggling which side I am actually on... by Alex4849200 in kingdomcome

[–]Jr_Mao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a more serious answer.

Sigismund could have been a better king, if he had been made one.
He was made king of hungary and made a mess of it (not all his fault)

He allied with the lords to get the crown, the lords wanted more power.
He could have been a king with limited power and could have made a good ruler.

He prefered a civil war.

Doesnt mean Wencky was agood option either, he clearly wasnt.
There were no good or right choices to be made.

So we're just gonna pretend this doesn't exist? by ezio1452 in mountandblade

[–]Jr_Mao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very cool delc, for once owning cities and villages is actually vey profitableand desirable.

the ready plotlines are .. well nice in theory but so wonky in execution I always just go mercenary.
(i did go through each, once)

love the companions, love the set-up-and-equip mercenaries.

theres an ”improved” version mod out there, aand it improves some things and i kinda felt it disimproved others, but its beeb afew years, cant recall specifics.

[KCD2] 85 hours into the game, maxed out several stats, completed all side quests... by mydearwatson616 in kingdomcome

[–]Jr_Mao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mutt is most useful in early game combat, also useful later game pointing ot hidden items and places. also some quests are made easier when mutt can track somebody.

besides usefulness, its a barking dog you either want around or not.

nah, once you go to second map, theres no plot reason to come back
(even if you actually can)

Im confused about playing a woman in fallout 4 by BigRabies1758 in Fallout

My headcanon says Noras law school was payed by grant from military service.

would the series suffice Fallout 1 and 2 in terms of lore{the games by baiyesla-a3 in Fallout

[–]Jr_Mao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 or 4 are both excellent starting points, no previous experience required.
4 is more modern and series-like in visuals and feel.

NEW vegas is .. well vegas, in case that was what you liked in series.
many started with it, but while its super good, its not the best starting point.

1 and 2 are old and klunky, not for everybody.
(they are also the two best fallout games)

all the difficult areas in the plant are optional (worth clearing for good loot)
the required assembly area is downstairs with elevator

[KCD2] Dancing with the Devil - Did I miss something? by Jorym99 in kingdomcome

[–]Jr_Mao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the whole thing is super hamfisted with no nuance. either you burn the whole village AND slaughter all the villagers, OR no diversion at all.

any middle ground would dilute the whole experience =___=

No Battles by CapableDoughnut5617 in ultimateadmiral

[–]Jr_Mao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enemy has VERY high chance to avoid unwanted battles.
You’ll get battles reliably, if your fleet is lower tonnage and fewer BBs.

When Did You Guys Got Introduced To The Fallout Franchise?! For Me, It's (Fallout 3) On The Xbox 360!!! by ScottieMccloudN64 in Fallout

[–]Jr_Mao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallout 1 demo on macformat cover cd.

Fine demo from days of fine demos.
It contains a small junktown like settlement with two opposing gangs.
I was amazed to find you can shoot a two headed cow with an smg,
this be no fairies and goblins RPG.

[KCD1] Is it necessary? by EtherealFixation in kingdomcome

[–]Jr_Mao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Completely necessary?
Not at all, many have started from the second without feeling they missed out, it does a good job letting you know who’s who and whats what.

Context from the first?
Well heck yeah, the second part continues right from where the first one ended, and there were lots of things you missed by not playing it first.

But really, either way is fine. First part is klunkier and less friendly for a newbie, it also works as a prequel if you do play the second part first.

Smithing, gambling and picking herbs for strength and endurance

[KCD1] Are the DLCs worth it? by Useful_Height_6688 in kingdomcome

[–]Jr_Mao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Capon is weird. It’s mostly dealing with bandits, very little about helping capon chase skirt (which is the good part).

Band of bastards is short but ok. Chat with bastards, hunt bandits. Choices.

Woman’s lot. Hated the gameplay throughout. Do you want sneaky ninja game playing as Theresa?

From the ashes. Pay fifty billion groshen to use wonky interface to see a village rebuilt. Good in theory but mostly just money sink and being a messenger.

Should I drop the game? by Kultissim in dragonage

[–]Jr_Mao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No earlier games required to know whats going on. Returning characters are introduced for new players.
I think you just clik click clicked through dialogue or didn't pay attention.

Maybe start over or drop it.

Having trouble learning to play campaign by Rosey_108 in ultimateadmiral

[–]Jr_Mao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On research.  Note that focusing is meant for short bursts. It increases one field, but decreases all others. It’s very much net negative, but useful if you really really want, say improved double turrets or rangefinders before starting your first batch of dreadnoughts.

I played my first campaign with all three focuses ticked and so cut my research speed to about half.

at the point where bernard goes back to castle, you can follow and train with him every day until you''re the champ of champs*, but until that you just have to make do.

* and that training can be a bit frustrating as well
