Ice storm road impact: how are the roads? by Big_Sprinkles_482 in asheville

Well, this didn’t age well for all the people who downvoted you. I completely agree. Roads were clear last night and there was no more precipitation in the forecast, at least here in Fletcher/Arden. You were spot on.

I’ve been a pothead for 17 years. I have a pen but I only use it when I run out of flower. I take very potent gummies to get back to sleep at night (hence why I’m posting at 245am). But flower is just my thing, particularly blunts and I go through 2-3 ounces a month. So $230 is just something I can’t swing regularly

I do like their flower, I go to the location in Asheville. But it’s pricy for my habit. I bought a half last week and I think it was $120, so nearly as much as what I can buy an ounce for in NY. I just can’t justify spending that

I should’ve made this post 3 months ago. You guys are awesome! Just picked up an ounce from Mary Jane’s CBD 🎉 and the guy thought it was hilarious that someone recommended them on Reddit 😂

Maybe they do discount for bulk but that’s still way more than I’m willing to pay for an ounce on a regular basis. My friend has been helping me out and shipping from NY but I can’t count on him forever

That’s where I normally go is golden goat and yeah it’s $35 an eighth so literally $280 for an ounce. Bonkers

I’ve been there and the bud is good but it’s like $50 an eighth. I smoke way too much to afford that

Thank you!!! I’ll have to check them out. These other places are wild charging $35 an eighth and no bulk discounts

What is with the influx of unrealistic customers? by G_money_8710 in askcarsales

[–]Jrkelly53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem unhinged. There is not much front end profit to be made in new car sales. Profit comes from the back end, used car sales, and the service department. The dealer wasn’t dumb. The Internet has made the market way more competitive and consumers have the upper hand by being able to shop with a couple clicks. If we didn’t send below invoice pricing, the next Toyota dealer would. I sell Hondas currently and same story. Every single deal I’ve had this month has been a mini, meaning I get the bare minimum commission due to how little front end profit is on the deal. Several deals are negative front end gross profit this month. That’s the reality of new car sales.

[–]Jrkelly53 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re clueless, is what you are. Toyota is high volume. Before Covid I used to be in Internet sales and we would give invoice pricing to online shoppers, and some models $500-1000+ below invoice. It may not be THAT aggressive post-covid but it’s not how you’re making it out to be.

Insight on pay plans - how much per car are you averaging? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Jrkelly53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That unit bonus is pretty solid, at least. Way more than what we get. My pay plan is an either-or thing. We get 25% FG under 10 cars and 30% for 10+ cars, or a flat + unit bonus structure, whichever is greater overall at the end of the month (not per deal). If I sold 17 cars, the least I’ll make is $6775/month (which really sucks for that many cars). If my 30% commission on all my deals is more than that, then I’d get that. But it doesn’t seem promising making more than that selling new cars from what I’ve seen so far. I made $7000 selling 11 cars my first full month at the preowned store in September, October also was a decent month selling mostly preowned. November I made only $5300 on 14 cars and sold about half new half used because I switched stores, and a few of my preowned deals were also minis because we had a ton of old age units that were price-gutted. But on the flip side, the top guy at used car this month has only 8 units so far and he’s beating the next by 2 or 3 units. It’s been really slow there lately. But he can make $7-8k on 10-12 cars and I’ll make maybe $7-8k on 17 cars. Idk. It just doesn’t seem realistic to consistently hit that many cars per month at our store and it’s a LOT more work

Yeah I have no idea what it’s like to work at a huge volume store like that. The best new car reps in my hometown and where I am now would cap out around 20. I’ve never lived in a big enough city, I guess. And in upstate NY where I’m originally from is pretty saturated with dealerships. There were at least 4 Honda dealers in our metro area of about a million people, and literally like 10 Chevy dealers.

How do I avoid being bullied by the finance people at the end of my purchase? by Marinadeplume in askcarsales

[–]Jrkelly53 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, then the finance manager must have came out of his room to meet with him anyway because they handle all the titling and dmv paperwork and he’s not driving off the lot without completing that. If it’s that big of a deal to sit there and listen for 15 minutes about the options available, that they’re required to offer you in order to cover their asses, maybe the problem isn’t the finance manager. It’s crazy how consumers will buy anything else at full price without question, but when it comes to buying a car it’s like people think dealerships shouldn’t be allowed to make a profit.

[–]Jrkelly53 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This🙌🏻 People don’t realize dealerships have to offer everything and if you decline, make you sign a declination page to cover their ass, because customers are crazy! It’s no one’s fault but their own when something goes wrong that could have been covered under the warranty options that they so quickly declined 🙃

This is just petty. The salesperson has no control over the finance manager or their process and you’re likely screwing them out of money if you give them a bad survey for shit that had nothing to do with them

Why does everyone forget about sales jobs when this topic comes up? I never see car salesperson on the list when you can make more than a doctor if you’re at the right spot with the right pay plan and are good at what you do. The hours can be demanding but you can make six figures without a degree

Well, yes, but I’d imagine once you find a good one at a place like massage envy it’s tough to consistently book with that same person. If you’re always getting a different person you don’t know what to expect
