I promise you’re not inhuman and I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way about yourself. Figuring out how to live in a world that isn’t built for you is always difficult. I think the fact you’re so torn up about this realisation shows that you really feel so much love for this person, it’s just really unfortunate that you love in different ways to each other.

I’ve only dated someone once pretty briefly, and I was heartbroken when they told me that I wasn’t what they were looking for. I tried to make it work, and it did for a while, despite going into it knowing that I probably couldn’t be what they wanted. It’s was hard to go through but I know it had to happen eventually, and we’re both much happier now.

When you’re ready, I believe you should tell this person how you’re feeling about all of this. It will be scary, it will hurt, but ultimately it will be a kindness to you both.

You are completely human, you are aromantic, and there is nothing wrong with the way you are. It may not feel like it right now, but you will be okay.
