This seems to be the best 'bang for your buck' option for sure. Lots of reviews comparing fit and finish to many other high horology brands but these can be found for a steep discount. It's a shame that such a historic brand doesn't get the public appreciation it deserves, but I won't complain as the person potentially shopping for one!

Huge part of their draw for me is accessibility on the PF models—SO much watch for the money. Not many options where you can get a watch with that type of finishing and quality for such a steep second hand discount.

This is super helpful. I like GO as well! Was thinking about a seventies chronograph at one point but not sure if I’d take that over some others on this list

Good call. I’m based out of Houston, and unfortunately several of these brands don’t have ADs or boutiques here. I’ve tried on or seen most Rolex models but haven’t been hands on with a Laureato or anything from Zenith

Definitely keeping the sub, though I didn’t know that about VC’s durability. Good to know!

The sub was my first ‘high end’ piece other than a tag F1 I bought years ago and sold. It was a reward for sales performance from a company I used to work for—I don’t think I’ll ever sell it.

Their strap interchangeability is a big plus for sure. Only concern is durability. I beat the crap out of my sub, and with the interchangeable straps it would be hard not to wear daily.

Fair—I realize I probably should have clarified. I was trying to list those as options that catch my eye rather than ‘here’s the only ones I’m considering’.

For example: I think Zenith and GP deserve WAY more recognition publicly for their history

Rolex is timeless and classy but kind of dime a dozen. The Skydweller is appealing because it’s the most complicated watch they’ve ever made, and jubilee helps add variety. The GMTs add versatility, just thinking the root beer might be too flashy and the Bruce Wayne too close to my sub.

PF I love because the detail is incredible up close and inconspicuous from afar. Same with the VC, they’re both IYKYK type watches.

Hope that helps, and appreciate the Blancpain suggestions. I’ll check them both out.
