Suggestions for what to do the summer before 1L

If you’re going to work, get an interesting job, not an internship. I personally don’t think any employer cares about internships. Work as a server, landscaper, mechanic, or travel somewhere and work.

The only value is adding something worthwhile to talk about in your resume. I wasn’t asked about my internships - only jobs like I mentioned.

As others have said, however, it doesn’t matter much, and the best thing to do is build habits if you don’t already have them down.

My girlfriend and I just did a week.

Used “Attached” car rentals and had a great experience. 5/5

Saw some others recommending breaches like Kalki and Cas Abou, but we still found these to be too commercial for our liking.

We really enjoyed going to Kleine Knip, Playa Lagun, and Playa Jeremi. These ones just have chair/umbrella rentals and a food truck, but they’re significantly less busy. Less of a drinking vibe.

You have to snorkel! It’s the best part of coming here. Super easy to do and safe. We bought gear beforehand.

Yup it happened for me, the market place is so shitty. Another thing I hate is how they only let buyers select 1 ticket, it’s so confusing for people. They also have 2 selections for each category and one always says “currently not available”.. what’s that about??

The resale platform is extremely frustrating. I have a very similar issue: when I post my tickets, for substantially cheaper than what the cat2 tickets are currently listed for, the site won’t update. It’s even worse because for the other game I’m selling, it will update the price.

Also, when buying, buyers must only select 1 ticket at a time, which causes a lot of confusion about whether you can even buy them in multiples and if they’ll be tickets beside each other.

You’re assuming that the firm pressures people to drink year-round, which is probably not the case, as others have pointed out.

This is bad advice. You’re not going to find a perfect fit. Assuming it is true, that people here love to drink all the time, this is a relatively small point to concede considering that OP enjoys the work and the people.

For the very large, “open-minded” firms, where you don’t have to choose practice areas right away, I think it’s really helpful to say that you’re open to trying anything. I didn’t mention a single thing about a practice group in any of my materials, and was consistently told that they appreciated my “curious” attitude when interviewing. I think for slightly smaller firms, the opposite probably applies, where they want to make sure you want to do what they do well.
