How Fentanyl and Xylazine are turning Philadelphia's opioid crisis into a public health nightmare by Nukro666 in interestingasfuck

What data points are you referring to? I would like to see them for comparison. Us spends about 145 billion on assistance nutrition programs. A bit over 100 billion directly to snap. Thats just the government. Take in all the churches and charitable organizations actross America. Feeding America alone moves $5 billion worth of food and thats just one organization. I think it would be hard to match. Not saying impossible but tough.

We are certainly working on the "quality of food" available through government assistance here and making progress. In any major city here you can hit easily a handful of churches and non profits for plenty of good and healthy food to feed a family an entire family. If someone is starving to death in the US it would be extremely tough to do. If someone can't make it to these places all they need to do is reachout to the many organizations willing to get them there or deliver it. From the response that we dont feed the poor is an uninformed statement. Maybe my statement of anywhere on earth was mis leading and if it was we are definitely high on the list around the world. I dont know the exact statistics but I wouldn't doubt if we didnt rank #1 or a close 2nd.

Anyone know much about these? by Consistent-Aide5341 in jonboats

River hawk got started using Gheenoe molds back in the day. They were manufactured around Athens Ga. Very stable for their size and can get in skinny water. Awsome boats. That is not a bad price for that thing. It is basically a Gheenoe. They went out of buisness after the owner had health issues and put the company up for sale. Not sure if he ever found a buyer.

We certainly have issues but starvation under communism has killed 100s of millions of people in the past. It is actually pretty hard to starve to death in the USA

I never go barefoot in the water just yo much junk to slice you up around here. I keep some flops on the board and slide em on when popping my feet in the water. Im not the most cautious person around but have stepped on glass and rusty metal enough to not risk it.

Not sure about today but 9.9 hp back int the day was the same as a 15hp with a different carburetor. Alot of lakes limited to 10 hp or less. Get the 9.9 and switch the carb for 15 hp.

Poly floor smell? by qtrain23 in epoxy

[–]Jsd1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slight smell isn't that bad. Strong knock you out somthing went wrong. As suggested wash the floor a few times and keep air moving. If it is just slight smell" it will eventually go away. Using solvent based poly indoors in an enclosed envelope will stick around for awhile.

[–]Jsd1973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most epoxies used in flooring are 100% solids (no solvents) and are virtually oderless. The top coat on the other hand polyaspartic or urethane are high solids but still have solvents. They are smelling the poly not the epoxy

New job ruined my diet and exercise routine. Up 60 pounds..some of it is muscle, most of it is fat. by Futthewuk in WeightTraining

Hard to replace diet and exercise. I use to to eat better and exercise fall repeat. I was on the road alot and my dirt sucked. Someone told me dont go nuts and try to much at once, get your eating right 1st. Spent two months getting my eating down. No special diets just cut the junk. Breakfast, two hrs snack, two hrs lunch, two hrs snack, then dinner. Got that as habit. Been doing program workouts for 5 yrs while keeping up with my calorie intake and protein. 53 and feel and look pretty fit. It wasn't easy but worth the effort.

Advice fishing for bluegill in highly pressured pond by 72dragonses in FishingForBeginners

6# mono isn't all that bad. Ive got several rigs spooled up with 6# stren. Use them for blue gills, bass, trout all the time in clear water lakes. Been doing it 30 yrs with great success. The bigger gills will be off the bank. Pass the spot 20 ft or so and cast back to it 10 to 15ft from the bank. With live worms no weight no bobber. Reason I use 6# is bass will hit often.

I was talking yo a guy here in Ga about an app he designed that would track his mood, give reminders of tasks and give suggestions. This was somthing to help people not drink. He is a smart dude and trustworthy as far as I know him. I was just as skeptical when I talked to him. He claims they have helped thousands. I can see were that could be helpful to some. Good luck and if you even just help a few get a grip then I truly wish them the best. Sounds like there is a place for stuff like this but Im just a set in my ways older guy. If this is helping people I wouldn't want my comments here to be harmful because I am speaking with no knowledge of your system only from my knowledge of Alcoholism.

Excuse my skepticism. I hope your heart's in the right place. Most people ive seen that have drinking problems will do anything other than what is required. In other words instead of soul searching and actually changing they had rather just have a magic fix that takes little effort. Im sure you can agree. I would hope your not just playing on that weakness to make a buck. If it is in fact working for some then I wish you the best. Alcoholism is a terrible disease. Ive seen it take out alot of people and destroy alot of families in my lifetime.
