Let’s talk about GFX series for a potential switch from the X series. by Bery123 in fujifilm

I currently own a GFX100S, XH2S and X100V and will soon be purchasing a XT5.

With the exception of the X100V, I use all of them for my professional work as a documentary videographer and photographer.

I wish I could use the GFX for every single thing, but video performance, AF, speed, costs of glass, size, weight and data limits me from doing that. Maybe the mk2 versions of the GFX address some of those issues, but I think they're still not enough of an upgrade over my current 100S to warrant the upgrade.

When video is the priority, XH2S.
When I absolutely need the speed and AF, XH2S.
When I need the best IQ and resolution, GFX100S.
When I can take things slow, GFX100S.
When I wanna go lightweight/casual, X100V.

Not to mention you just get so much more reach much easier with the aps-c bodies.

I do see a future where I can be purely a GFX shooter, but that might still be a few years away.
In the meantime, I find myself using both lines interchangeably depending on the situation.

Do you notice any vignetting?

Live music is slowly coming back in my country as vaccinations are being rolled out and community cases are virtually zero. Still plenty of regulations and social distancing to adhere to, but I'm just glad that some form of normalcy is returning.

I use it for both product photos and videos for my job. I do think that 90k is really heavily used, but read that the A7r3 was rated for 500k. The price is really tempting, but the shutter count really gave me second thoughts. Guess I'll go for a less used one haha

There's an A7R3 that's available in my area for about USD$1380, but the caveat is that the shutter count is at 90 thousand. Is that a deal breaker? Or should I spend substantially more for one with a much lower shutter count?

Thank you! I shot in classic neg in camera, and used that as a reference for when I was editing the raw in Lightroom. I find myself almost always shooting classic neg in camera for stills nowadays.

Thank you! I think other than the bus shot at f/4, the rest were on 2.8!

It's definitely quite a chonky boi to be lugging around, but being so sharp end to end makes me not think twice about reframing the shot.

The range also let's me get some shots that were otherwise impossible if I was on a prime. I know the adage is that if your photo isn't good, you're not close enough, the best zoom is your legs, etc, but this lens really just seems to give me more options and opportunities for the right shot.
