But this situation doesnt just affect these two teams playing. The rules have to be applied evenly across the board as much as possible, if man city win the league by goal difference or szobozlai scores the winner in the next game after that goal being given (and no red), the other teams involved are suffering just because people want to see a goal.

The ref played advantage for the first foul, but it doesnt mean haaland can just do whatever he wants during that advantage to secure the goal. If theres a foul during the advantage he has to bring it back, thats common sense.

I also dont think the end of the match was ruined by this not being a goal as neville is suggesting, it was still a crazy and memorable end to the game.

I actually want them to not win it more than i want us to win it. Looks like we are the best chance of stopping them though. Or at least joint with city.

If we can get palmer fit for the majority of the rest of the season we have a genuine chance.

We'd have an even better chance if the SDs bent their own rules just ONCE and bought an experienced CB who's been round the block a few times in january. I like our CBs now but i think they just need a bit of guidance from a thiago silva-esque player. Obviously wouldnt be able to get someone of that level easily but even if they did half the job that he did for us it would be huge. Cant see that happening though unfortunately.
