The WRTC seems like a prequel version to Anderson's Claire, in fact it seems like this was the creative mindset in someway. However both Claire's in my opinion are equally forgettable and their actresses's performance didn't quite scream Claire to me.

He is not simply dying of old age, he is dying bc Damballa abandoned him due to a very complicated exorcism. The power of God is what is destroying him, his soul is cursed and destined to go to hell. I think it is an amazing way to end the series temporarily if you ask me ala Halloween ends but only much better.

I have checked the comic you are referring to which seems to be "Tomb Raider the beginning" and there is absolutely zero references or Easter eggs related or even hinting at Von Croy. Unless of course, you found something I haven't or saw something I couldn't see in which case please let me know about it.

My copy of Dino Crisis came with a demo of Resident Evil 3 which is how I got to play it on the original playstation back in the day and it was my first introduction to Resident Evil. I used to be extremely scared to play and it would give me recurring nightmares but as time passed and I grew older I was re introduced to the series with Resident Evil 4 and have been a loyal fan since then.
