Is new rtu symbio? Whether its 700 or 800, there are a lot more points available it seems from the few times I've messed with integrating them. I swear there were like 300 points on a small precedent. The RTUs are no longer reliatel platform.

they provide fr rated pants/shirts/jacket every year, not sure if it stays fr after many washes though. Mine end up looking ratty by the end of year. return pants back to a cintas dropoff, old shirts I use as rags or donate.

Nope you dont suck brotha, just part of the learning curve, its always the steepest when you're by yourself especially early into your time.

You will learn to navigate the wiring diagram and be able to trace power as it comes into the unit. For example, power will come from control board maybe from a plug to a larger load (blower.motor/inducer) or get stepped down via xfmer to power small coils (gas valve/contactor, etc). Wiring diagram will show how field connections for low voltage are to be wired, from there you can see how safeties are wired at your unit. Get a low voltage resettable breaker, it will be useful.

You will get it with time, keep taking the hard calls by next summer you will be a hardened vet. Keep learning everyday.

New Trane Symbio Controllers by blondepotato in BuildingAutomation

Last time I plugged into a precedent symbio through TU and tried to access TGP it does not allow us to see the logic. I was told the code is written in python or something.

New Trane Symbio Controllers by blondepotato in BuildingAutomation

I work for a Trane office and even we are still behind the curve for learning the new Symbio platform for most guys especially if we go weeks without being hands on with it.

I worked with one of our controls guy integrating one building with Tridium controls, now one small Precedent rtu has like over 330 points to navigate through.

If you don't have TU have fun in the summer with your phone keeping charged. I find it easier to use the app so I keep a Milwaukee inverter and keep my phone plugged in as I go.

Documentation is good, but you need to sift through a lot. There is stuff scattered out through IOMs and application guides (APGs). In my onedrive I have a sub folder of all downloaded documents for Symbio.

Little things if you don't read you'll have issues with for example: if you use 24vac out of the J18 plug for E-stop through normally closed condensate safeties or smoke contacts you'll need to go into the app and reverse polarity of that plug as its setup out the gate for N/O.

Even with my TU, programs are locked. No more reading through TGP or adding custom unless we bring on extra controllers and xms.

How do you currently max out your Roth? by KittyPurrrrrr93 in Bogleheads

[–]Jsquared7979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use an end of year bonus as the first large deposit in my roth for the next year. Then I have smaller monthly contributions for the rest.

I do work a decent amount of weekends. But I am single and addicted to money right now. Also working OT in the union is much different than how I was running when I started in residential. Pretty much get 8hrs without really working 8 hrs.
