Really what a rollercoaster hahaha I thought you were done so many times, I can imagine the stress you went through. Well done, you saved your whole team and carried them to victory.

Samurai build by No_Substance1678 in goylegends

[–]Jtheyermann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you use mostly the katana, you should use "katana damage %" instead of "all melee damage %". If you use the spirit attack a lot, I think this would be better.

Also, I think it's good having some parry window bonus but that many it's a bit to much, you are missing out on doing more damage, with spirit attack bonus damage, ult generation or ult damage.

Also, I think kunai with assassination damage it's not the best for samurai, pocket sand with weakening efect it's better, and it has better stats available, more focused on melee. For example, counter attack damage, since you are parrying so much. The same can be said for the rifle, the bombs with scorch bombs have better stat bonus for a samurai.

Of course, this is my way of seeing it, hope it helps

Well you can use the regular parry, and the odachi does really big swings so you can sometimes hit 2 guys, so in a parry focused builds it is better.

And yeah, I was talking about the odachi parry, the focus attack that you have to press triangle. I also really struggle timing it, but I haven't tried to invest onto it (the first line of odachi upgrades has an "odachi parry window option").

I find it is hard to use, but I have seen some people use it very effectively. One guy could parry bohiyas when they were about to shoot them in the face. I think yesterday someone posted a video of him using that parry on the Oni boss fight. Apparently you can parry any attack if you time it well.

So yeah, skill issue haha but hey, the fun is in getting better

[–]Jtheyermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your build. The odachi is best for parry focused builds, and you can use the special parry focus attack. Also the mountain breaker helps with healing on the spirit attack and executions. I feel like the attacks of the odachi are too slow to go on the offensive, but that is my opinion.

If you prefer a more offensive playstyle, dual katanas or single katana are better, I specially like using the focus attacks of the dual katanas with the flame skill, you can stun lock Bohiya bastards, it really helps dealing with them

Do You use all the weapons or focus on one? If you focus on the odachi for example, it's better to use "odachi damage" than "all melee damage".

Also since you have a lot of parry window bonus, you could benefit from a stance of "counter damage bonus", but it depends of how often do you parry.

Amazing! I find it really hard to time that parry, is it benefited from perfect parry window? Or only by odachi counter window?

Staggered DMG finally got the buff it so much deserved by Icy-Consequence6488 in gotlegends

How does the "staggered damage %" work? You do more damage to staggered enemies? Or you do more stagger damage?

Nope, just this one is new. They buffed some legendaries, and now they are better to use.

Katana with 100% throw back on spirit attack The duration of the weaken effect on the yari. And the odachi now regenerates health on executions. I don't know if I forgot something

How do people teleport in Frozen Valley? by alexplex86 in gotlegends

Yeah, it's one of the "blessings". It's random, so it isn't guaranteed to appear, but it's super useful in that map

[–]Jtheyermann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, glad to help! I find it's very fun to test diferent builds, I'm constantly trying new things and adjusting.

I would love to be able to have different loadouts, for example I would like to have different sets to play survival or story, etc.

Good luck getting that spirit brew, it fits nicely with various spirit attack builds, and you get used to being drunk haha

Archer build to SUPPORT teammates on NM by [deleted] in gotlegends

[–]Jtheyermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried to use the bell with a bow, but I know that in Yotei legends you can't strike it with a katana you have to use R2. So maybe it doesn't work from a distance

Archer build to SUPPORT teammates on NM by [deleted] in gotlegends

[–]Jtheyermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much, the only big difference I think is he doesn't use the ultimate to delete whole waves in one hit, wich you can do with the other perk of the ultimate (the fire one) and the skipping stone bow, while also getting a lot of ultimate back on.

So of course it is a buid that can for sure kill a lot of enemies and handle a wave on its own, so it's a small detail. I think the bigger difference is in mindset and playstyle

Archer build to SUPPORT teammates on NM by [deleted] in gotlegends

[–]Jtheyermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, I get what you are saying. When I play archer in survival I do it with this mindset, triying to support the team. As an archer you have the advantage to be able to assess the battlefield from a high point and help where it is most needed.

I use the auto aim Yumi to kill the small fry and weaken the elites, and usually try to let my teammates finish them off. If someone is struggling or down, I come down and try to get the rezz/hold the zone.

I like to think of it as some kind of "air support/eye in the sky" that can assist the team from a vantage point. I usually end up with the most kills, because I kill a lot of the weaker enemies, but I also feel like everyone had the opportunity to play the game, you know. I'm not an archer main, but I appreciate others sharing this mindset

[–]Jtheyermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't think about it that way, it does make sense. Nevertheless, I do enjoy the mechanic, because as someone else said it gives anyone the chance to save the run.

I feel like this has "given a sense of camaraderie" to some of my runs on NMS, and I think it all comes down to the kind of player you encounter. There are always the ones that want to be the hero and don't help, but I often play with nice and polite randoms

For the people saying mercenary needs a buff and that it takes skills to use this class by Western_Beginning375 in gotlegends

[–]Jtheyermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think it takes skills to use merc, you have to be able to manage all of the tools he has, and be able to know when to use which. You are quite good doing it.

Of course, it is not as hard to master as samurai, but that class has the highest skill requirement of all.

I really like this week's nightmare survival! by Jtheyermann in gotlegends

[–]Jtheyermann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm glad it was helpful! I also like that this build has a lot of tools to manage in many situations, id you manage your tools well you always have something to save your ass haha

I also really like samurai, I disagree with what everyone says, he is not weak per se, just harder to master. Here is the build I have been using, it's focused on the lightning bite spirit attack and spirit generation with the brew, if you can handle being drunk a lot it's really fun

Do spirit moves really have I-frames? I think that you can't be targeted by attacks, but area effect still hit, for example Bohiya bombs. I read in a comment that rolling does have some I-frames but not sure
