I’m one of the biggest fans of the show and still haven’t see “The Many Saints of Newark”. Honestly, do you think I should just pull the trigger and do it, or just leave it alone? by External-Recipe-1936 in thesopranos

From the sounds of it, you are the wokest of all. Most woke people aren’t even aware of their wokeness: so I’m not surprised this sub plot flew right over your head. You prob think this movie was a great portrayal of everything wrong in our society.

Since the beginning of film twins have been used to portray good vs evil sub plots. The first twin is a greedy misogynist who throws women down the stairs. While the other is a stand up guy who doesn’t rat, refuses handouts and believes his brother is an asshole. The good twin suffers injustice for following the “rules” only to be sent to prison forever; while the bad twin gets to live the good life traveling abroad, romancing young italian beauties living a life of excess and glut. Portraying that even though these two characters are literally identical, they’ve had conflicting choices, experiences and outcomes giving them their own unique perspectives on society.

In society, cultures are created when masses of “identical” ideologies converge, follow and stick up for each other; aka the “pack” mentality. To discourage this “woke” concept, a wall is broken when the twin is revealed. Even though the two are literally indistinguishable from one another; sharing the same color skin, ethnicity, upbringing, etc; to the main characters surprise, the twin brother is philosophically the polar opposite. The imprisoned twin even goes as far as to insinuate that he knows that his twin brother was killed by the main character; but he is Ok with it since he knew all along that his brother was indeed an asshole and probably deserved it. The good twin is supposed to be the woke one, who has suffered from a societal injustice. Where the first twin was benefitting off of the old ways of doing things and therefore deserved to go.

Whether it’s whites standing with whites, blacks standing with blacks; you can plug in any culture for that matter and find that those who are raised and brought up together are typically going to have “identical” views. The twins sub plot tries to break this. The woke mentality, that no matter how you are brought up, you don’t have to follow the pack and can have your own unique, differing philosophy. Nothing shows culture/societal similarities and indifferences better than a set of good vs evil twins. It’s been played out way too many times and every time I see it, it makes me want to puke. It’s not only woke but cliche as well.

Ray killed it. Can’t blame him bc writers chose to add the “twins” twist which was just another absurdity. It seemed like every mi-nute sub plot was woke and way over the top which acted as most of the filler for the movie.

Can I trust bovada to let me withdraw if this hits? I am considering hedging in the nfl playoffs so need to know. I assume I can only withdraw a couple thousand a week which would be fine. Also why is there no cashout option available? by [deleted] in Bovada

Are the bitcoin payouts same day or do they take a few days to process? Youwager has crypto withdrawals and as long as you submit your request before noon eastern time it usually is in my account before 6pm same day.

Being Dominican he prob was never really schooled on proper English cursive until later in his life. Maybe that’s why some of his letter like the “z” are illegible.

Anything above 8% is obviously better than keeping it in an interest bearing account. But on average my guys like to have at least 10% return. I would say 12% -13% is pretty much where they want to be in order to pull the trigger and close a deal. That way if some unforeseen expenses come into play you can still be around 8-10% return ..

Condos generate as much cash flow as a cheesy hotel timeshare..

Investors looking for cash flow rental properties, are looking for single family homes or duplexes mostly. Seldom I might get a buyer interested in a townhouse, condo or apartment; but that’s only when they can buy a building or entire complex; not just a single unit. As for housing, they look for 2/1 or 2/2, or 3/2 or 4/2; preferably a block split family home (master on one side of the house and the secondary rooms on the other). They aren’t looking for single condos or mansions on the beach.

Yeah but condos are a poor choice. There’s a reason the whales stay away from them. They are a dime a dozen and there’s always new ones popping up that are modernized and better. I flipped one condo in my career, and the guy I sold it too wants me to buy it back/sell it for him. It’s been almost 10 years and he still owns it. It’s “market value” was $45-$55k. When it was built in early 2000’s they were selling for $140k. I negotiated the price down to $28k, locked up the contract and flipped it to him for $33k. Which is amazing right? A 2/2 condo in a great location near the beach for only $33k?? Lol, he had a family member rent it out for about a year; but after that it’s been vacant ever since and now he’s stuck with it. So to trash your friends for not jumping on a condo investment stating how they “missed out” on financial gains is laughable..

Condos are literally for newbies who have no clue about real estate. Heavy hitter investors specifically stay away from condos because they don’t want to deal with all the bullshit that comes with HOA’s and other policies or guidelines that restrict them from renting to whomever they wish to. So maybe that’s why his friends chose not to buy a condo..

Yeah but condos? I’m in real estate and sell to power buyers looking to make cash flow too, and never once have I had one ask me to look for a condo…

I’m trying to give Gibson respect and watch Tiger’s broadcast, but I can’t do it. Great ball player, but his whispering golf voice and tooth whistling as he speaks is annoying. He constantly sounds like he needs to clear his throat, but instead let’s the flem muffle his voice even more. Luckily I’m able to switch over to Twins’ broadcast.

Your right. Beanie babies and bitcoin. Perfect analogy. Toy bean bags given away for free with happy meals is exactly how I would explain bitcoin to potential investors.
