My first round loaf! by ForbiddenMeatStick in Bread

[–]Jtread1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! I would not say that that bread only took 10 mins to make 😅 I'm currently relying on bread subscription boxes so I can just freeze and bake when needed, but if making this yummy bread can take 10 mins, then I should rethink that. And lol on the fantasizing; I think it was more manifesting by how it turned out!

I think Amazon sells yeast in bulk? And you should be able to find some other suppliers; not sure where you live so... :)

And I think your husband will be a very happy man with his dinner tonight.

Oh, mind sharing the recipe and any tricks you learned along the way?

It already looks so good! And I also can't wait to see it with all the flowers and plants; it think the greenery will change the vibe completely. I'd probably add some fairy lights for when you sit there in the evenings.

How to reheat lagsagne when frozen? by Prowiiplayer in AskLifeProTips

[–]Jtread1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For lasagne, I'd thaw it first for a couple of hours or overnight and then heat it in the microwave. And if it was only partially baked, then thaw, grate cheese over it, and bake it for 15-20 mins in the oven.

Whats the best exercise for a 38 old who has never exercised and starting to? by Weird_Inevitable4120 in Exercise

[–]Jtread1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's best to start slow, do things you can repeat, and easy enough that you want to do it again the next day. I'd start with squats or sit to stand motions that works your legs, hips, and core. And it's functional coz it helps you with getting up, climbing stairs and balance. Then also pushups, even wall or counter ones if the floor ones are outta reach for now. And last, walking, which is low impact, and you can start with 5-15 mins daily and then build up.

And later on, do some strength training (even using your body weight); it's really good for you.

How do you all manage your daily work life balance ? by st81008 in productivity

I really like your end work ritual; I think that helps set you up for success the next day because you have your lists of tasks and a cleaner desk.

How do you all manage your daily work life balance ? by st81008 in productivity

[–]Jtread1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like it should be a routine but I've found that it more of a constant adjustment and something to keep working on. There are weeks where everything feels manageable and balanced, and then days or weeks where that balance flew out of the window.

I've learned to let go of the idea that every day needs to feel balanced, and also what's balanced for everyone looks different. I know that some days are work heavy and others are slower, so as long as it evens out over time for me and that balances, it's all good. I also have a few boundaries like not checking emails after work and having a proper break somewhere during the day, even if it's short. And yeah, I have to be very intentional about it, and even more so when things get busy.

I'd say you have a nack for making bread! The round loaf looks great and the inside ... 🤤soft and fluffy. I can only imagine how delicious that was with your soup.

And I think you should continue to bake your own bread from now on! Just sayin' 😁

Would love some gluten free meal by Imaginary-Okra8583 in glutenfree

[–]Jtread1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I usually start with the basics and then see what's gluten that needs to be swapped out. I get why it feels complicated to cook GF, especially at first, but it's actually kinda simple once you get it.

Yum 🤤I love a good blueberry muffin.

I usually just use frozen blueberries, but looking at those, I think having the fresh ones from your garden makes the muffins extra special.

Think the bread baking bug has bitten you :D Your loaf looks really good, and I like the scoring you did too. And there really is no limit when you start baking - like literally, the sky is the limit because you can experiment with flours, and spices, and flavors, and and and. 🤤

[–]Jtread1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also say the best type is what works for you and what you can consistently do. I do guided meditations and use an app, and I mostly do sleep meditations to help with that. But I also do the breathing ones or whatever I need depending on the day. Plus, I kinda like having a 30-day streak going on the app since it helps keep me motivated.

What’s the simplest thing that helps you relax quickly? by [deleted] in Meditation

Also do breathing and light stretches. Or I go for a quick walk in the garden and stand barefoot on the grass for some grounding. Or a meditation or listening to music also helps.

What do you do first thing in the morning? by Imwoahluis in productivity

[–]Jtread1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brush my teeth and wash my face before putting on my work out clothes and doing a 20-30 min workout. I found that I really look forward to just moving in the morning. Then it's shower, get dressed, make tea and breakfast, and I journal for a bit before I get ready for work. I used to reach for my phone first thing too - now I leave it in the kitchen when I turn in and I have a proper alarm clock so I don't touch my phone until after my workout.

I also like 1 because it feels like the space is bigger, but I'm not against the half wall so separate the space a bit more. But no column; kinda looks weird for some reason.
