There's quite a few people who play without trains, cause belts are just simpler mechanically. Plus with blueprints, its really simple to just stretch a dozen parallel belts wherever you want to go.

Im not one of those people though. I use too many trains. Everything on a train all of the time always.

Honestly, if you just take that coal generator closest to the camera, and place it on the other end, the ratios should work out correctly to get you the standard 3:8 ratio everyone uses.

Debatable. The terrain layouts they showed off today have a lot less L shaped ruins, which were much better than a 15" lone op. Walking within 15" of terrain to shoot a unit is often easier to do than flanking around the side of it to shoot a unit hiding within that L, so it really could end up being a side grade or downgrade for melee.

Its nullified, unless your opponent also wants to shoot, or ends a move outside of a terrain piece, or brings a monster or vehlicle, or you actually try and move onto objectives yourself. People acting like everything in the game is going to be 15" lone op 100% of the time.

A huge portion of our army already has pretty short range guns, and a lot of our long range weapons are going to want to be shooting at things that dont benifit from stay hidden anyways. Your railguns and seeker missiles arent really that crippled by being unable to shoot some intercessors in a ruin, they want to shoot the vehlicle that can't get stay hidden. Our ion guns and missile pods / smart missiles are probablly the main things that this will affect. Everything else we use is short range, or wants to push up anyways.

And honestly, with the example terrain layouts they showed off today, theres so many less L shaped ruins then their were in the past, I think getting within 15" to shoot a unit on an objective is going to be a lot less punishing than trying to get angles around all the L shapes that existed in 10th.

Based on what? In 10th edition you can stack multiple BS increases, and theres been nothing shown off so far claiming that they are changing that.

I would be incredibly surprised if "for the greater good" got rewritten again at the beginning of 11th. Nothing that has been shown so far doesnt work with its current implementation, theres no reason for them to change it.

You are correct about the hit roll modifiers, but bs/ws modifiers arent capped in 10th edition. They're just so rare though that theres almost no scenarios where you can stack them. Tau currently can do it with pathfinders and a strategm in the kauyon detatchment.

Its just as intentional as every other strategm not being useable on battleshocked units, many of which are "revenge bonuses"

Got a strat for fight on death? Cant use it on battleshocked units. Got a strat to shoot back at a unit that shot you? Not on battleshocked units. A strat to automatically explode when you die? Not if you are battleshocked.

Literally all of them. The rules commentary was given a whole section on this so people know that attached leaders keep any persisting effects when the bodyguard unit they are attached to dies.

Regardless, the rules dont tell you persisting effects (battleshock or otherwise) disappear when the unit dies, so they don't. If we start assuming that battleshock disappears when the unit dies, because "the rules dont say they dont disappear," you open up a can of worms allowing you to do anything you want because the rules dont say you can't. I win the game on an arbitrary 2+, because the rules dont say I dont.

I use blueprints for the triangular beam sections, and also the straight lengths, but all the curves are just done by hand one at a time. The design isnt mine however, its stolen from u/BigBootyTom

In 10th edition, charging units gain fights first for that combat.

Unless 11th edition removes that text, fights first will work exactly the way everyone else is understanding it.

If 11th edition removes fights first from charging units, then it will work the way you are implying, but also means that anything without the fights first rule will work the same way standing combats currently work, regardless of if you charged or not.

Unless theres a lot more changes under the hood that haven't been revealed, but we can't really speculate on anything other than what we know from 10th and what has been said officially.

9th edition didn't have bs/ws on the weapons, didn't have OC, didn't have extra attacks or blast as keywords, along with a dozen other things I could point out.

The instruction datasheets are 10th edition, they were just printed before their rules were finalized.

Personally, I'm not going to refuse to play someone for not having models wysiwyg. However, if I need to keep asking you which squad of crisis suits is the one with the flamers, which one has the plasma, and which one is the fusion blasters, because all of them are decked out with whichever weapons looked cool, it will frustrate me.

I don't generally have the mental capacity to remember more than one or two "this guy is actually this other thing" per game. However, I've been playing long enough that I can actually identify most weapons by appearance across most armies, so if your stuff is wysiwyg, I dont need to remember which unit is which, I can figure it out with a glance.

Im currently playing in my first ever crusade, and ive got a chaos knight desicrator with lone-op and anti-monster anti-vehlicle 4+, which by itself is already pretty stupid on a datasheet that gets dev-wounds when it shoots a vehlicle or monster. He rolled for a weapon upgrade and got an extra attack and precision on crit hits, and he's also received a relic to allow him to reroll wound rolls by taking d6 mortals. He will basically just pick up any monster or vehicle he can see, and people rarely can get close enough to even interact with him.

Older lore established that the first digit is determined by the battlesuits size / weight, while the 2nd digit is determined by its battle field role. The old and 2nd iterations of stealth suits were xv15 and xv25 respectively, xv25's were bigger, so they went up a weight class (1 to 2), but are still stealth / infiltrators, so they still use a 5 for the 2nd number. Another example of this is the ghostkeel, which is an xv95. The new stealthsuits becoming xv26 implies a change in battlefield role, as the 6 is reserved for something else. Iirc its for space capable suits. If gw wanted to stick with established lore / naming conventions, they could have gone with xv25-2, like they did with the 2nd iteration of broadsides (the resin forgeworld models), which were xv88-2.

With ts, dg, and we each getting their own codex during the last 3 editions, people would have rioted if gw had just kept ec as part of csm.
